  • Patent number: 11928418
Abstract: Embodiments provide systems, methods, and computer storage media for text style suggestions and/or text emphasis suggestions. In an example embodiment, an electronic design application provides a text style suggestion tool that generates text style suggestions to stylize a selected text element based on the context of the design. A text emphasis tool allows a user to select a text element and generate text emphasis suggestions for which words should be emphasized with a different text styling. Various interaction elements allow the user to iterate through the suggestions. For example, a set of style suggestions may be mapped to successive rotational increments around a style wheel, and as the user rotates through the positions on the style wheel, a corresponding text style suggestion is previewed and/or applied.

  • Patent number: 11875698
Abstract: A method, a computer program product, and a computer system allow a secondary language to be learned through content translation in an engaged linguistical consumption format. The method includes determining an educational corpus for the secondary language that indicates learned words in the secondary language. The method includes determining a select portion of subtitles being shown during a play back of a multimedia file shown in a native language where the select portions include a native word corresponding to the learned words. The method includes generating a modification to the select portion such that the learned words replace the native word in the subtitles. A display of the play back of the multimedia file including the subtitles is updated with a visual graphic corresponding to the modification to replace the native word.

  • Patent number: 11861317
Abstract: Human-machine dialog is characterized by receiving data comprising a recording of an individual interacting with a dialog application simulating a conversation. Thereafter, the received data is parsed using automated speech recognition to result in text comprising a plurality of words. Features are extracted from the parsed data and then input an ensemble of different machine learning models each trained to generate a score characterizing a plurality of different dialog constructs. Thereafter, scores generated by the machine learning models for each of the dialog constructs are fused. A performance score is then generated based on the fused scores which characterizes a conversational proficiency of the individual interacting with the dialog application. Data can then be provided which includes or otherwise characterizes the generated score. Related apparatus, systems, techniques and articles are also described.

Abstract: Methods and systems provide an adaptive method of language learning using automatic speech recognition that allows a user to learn a new language using only their voice—and without using their hands or eyes. The system may be implemented in an application for a smartphone. Each lesson comprises a series of questions that adapt to the user's knowledge. The questions ask for the translation of a word or phrase by playing an audio prompt in the origin language, recording the user speaking the translation in the target language, indicating whether the utterance was correct or incorrect, and providing feedback related to the user's utterance. Each user response is evaluated in real time, and the application provides individualized feedback to the user based on their response. Subsequent questions in the lesson and future lessons are dynamically ordered to adapt to the user's knowledge.

Abstract: The present disclosure describes a system and method for estimating hormone levels and physiological conditions of a user by analysing speech samples of said user. A user device of the user may record specifics of speech and use these specifics of speech as a speech sample of user's utterance. The user device may transmit the speech samples to a backend system. The system may isolate phonation segments from the speech samples. The system may filter the one or more phonation segments. The system may isolate uttered speech segments from the one or more phonation segments. The system may perform an acoustic-phonetic analysis of the uttered speech segments. The acoustic-phonetic analysis may use plurality of features for the analysis. The IPA phonemes may be used to derive speech markers that correspond to specific hormones and levels thereof. The system may generate a hormone level report which is transmitted to the user.

Abstract: Systems and processes are disclosed for initiating and controlling content speaking on touch-sensitive devices. A gesture can be detected on a touchscreen for causing text to be spoken. Displayed content can be analyzed, and a determination can be made based on size, position, and other attributes as to which portion of displayed text should be spoken. In response to detecting the gesture, the identified portion of text can be spoken using a text-to-speech process. A menu of controls can be displayed for controlling the speaking. The menu can automatically be hidden and a persistent virtual button can be displayed that can remain available on the touchscreen despite the user navigating to another view. Selecting the persistent virtual button can restore the full menu of controls, thereby allowing the user to continue to control the speaking even after navigating away from the content being spoken.
