    Abstract: A processing torch having a separably assembled torch base and torch head includes a first ring member rotatably provided on an outer periphery of one of the torch base and the torch head, and a second ring member fixed on the other one of the torch base and the torch head. An engaging projection is provided on one of the first and second ring members, and an inclined track provided on the other of the first and second ring members for engaging with the engaging projection. In addition, an elastic biasing member is provided for increasing an engaging force between the inclined track and the engaging projection so as to sealingly engage the inclined track and the engaging projection. Connection and disconnection between the torch base and the torch head are performed by rotation of at least one of the first and second ring members.

The socket carrier is mounted between the collector heads for rotation about an axis extending perpendicularly to the rails, and there is a socket for a lamp on the socket carrier.

    Abstract: A flexible conductor for use in a dynamoelectric machine to electrically connect a radial lead of a rotor with field windings and a dynamoelectric machine incorporating such a flexible conductor are disclosed. The flexible conductor has first and second conductive members, the first for attachment to the radial lead and the second, of a U-shaped construction, for connection to the field windings. The two conductive members are spaced apart to form a gap and a flexible connector spans the gap with a portion thereof extending through the gap in the direction of a leg of the second conductive member. The flexible connector is formed from a plurality of sandwiched conductive strips having slots therein which form a catenary connection between the two conductive members, whose radial and tangential stiffness is equal.

    Abstract: A moveable contact plunger assembly for interconnection of electrical wires between adjacent railway cars. The assembly has a plunger with a shoulder which fits in abutment with a mating shoulder in an aperture of a dielectric connector block. A follower element is arranged for electrical contact with the plunger. A spring is arranged to allow axial deflection of the plunger relative to the follower element and of the follower element relative to the dielectric block shoulder. Electrical continuity between the plunger and the follower element is obtained by means of a wire which is crimped to the follower and to the plunger. A guide pin mounted on the follower element and a guide slot on a spring barrel portion of the plunger coact with the spring so as to allow axial travel of the follower and of the plunger as well as a rotating motion of the plunger during its axial travel.
