  • Patent number: 11682850
Abstract: An electric connector terminal assembly which allows numerous different terminal connector ends and wire diameters to be connected to a single size and type crimp cylinder using an rolled metal strip insert. Preferably, the metal strip is made of copper, and preferably the copper strip is coated with tin. The metal strip is then formed into a cylinder for insertion to the crimp cylinder. A method for connecting a crimp terminal to an electric wire is also disclosed. The method requires cutting a metal strip to form a plurality of parallel compliant members (e.g., fingers) connected to a base, rolling the cut strip to form a cylindrical insert, positioning the insert within a crimp cylinder of an electric connector with the fingers extending toward the mating end, inserting an electric wire within the cylindrical insert, and crimping the crimp cylinder to secure the electric wire within the cylindrical insert and crimp cylinder.

  • Patent number: 11489269
Abstract: An objective of the present invention is to provide a terminal connecting structure which may enable the conductivity to be improved. A terminal connecting structure is intended for connecting a terminal to an electric wire, the electric wire including an aluminum conductor with aluminum, wherein the terminal connecting structure further comprises a conductive connection body formed with aluminum, wherein one end of the connection body is butt-connected to the aluminum conductor, and wherein another end of the connection body is connected to the terminal via crimping. This enables the terminal to be connected to the electric wire via the connection body without crimping the bundle of cores. This may eliminate influence of crimping on the aluminum conductor and enable the conductivity between the electric wire and the terminal to be improved.

Abstract: Inwardly-directed projecting portions (2, 3) are formed in a bent manner respectively at distal ends of a pair of clamping piece portions (4, 5) which are continuous with each other, and form a wire connection portion (7) of a terminal (1). A conductor portion (9) of a wire (8) is located on the inner sides of the pair of clamping piece portions (4, 5), and the pair of clamping piece portions are pressed over an entire periphery into a circular shape, and are extended in a peripheral direction, thereby causing projecting extension portions (2?, 3?), including the projecting portions (2, 3), to bite into the conductor portion. Before the pressing operation, the pair of clamping piece portions (4, 5) may be provisionally pressed to be curved, thereby causing distal ends of the projecting portions (2, 3) to bite slightly into an outer peripheral surface of the conductor portion (9).

Abstract: A press-clamping structure includes: a wire; and a press-clamping terminal which includes a conductor press-clamping portion having a generally U-shaped cross-section. The conductor press-clamping portion includes a bottom plate and a pair of conductor caulking pieces which are bent inwardly to embrace the conductor of the wire and caulk the conductor. Distal end portions of the conductor caulking pieces are bent outwardly in a opposite direction to each other. When P1 represents a point closest to the bottom plate on an area in which the outer surfaces of the conductor caulking pieces are contacted with each other, and P2 represents a point closest to the bottom plate on the distal end portion of each of the conductor caulking piece, a formula Lh<Lw is established where Lh represents a height from the point P2 to the point P1, and Lw represents a distance between the respective points P2.
