  • Patent number: 8968023
Abstract: The wiring harness provided herein affords adjustability of the relative orientation between the connecting cable and its interface connector in real time, during field applications. The harness rotates to accommodate varying access angles to the desired test point connector. A cable conduit of the harness can be adjusted vertically relative to the axis of its interface connector, as well. Cable wire integrity is maintained during manipulations of the cable conduit relative to the harness electrical connector and stress on the wires is minimized. The harness can be sealed from moisture and environmental factors. The harness can provide shielding from electromagnetic interference for the cabling housed therein. The present harness is well suited for service in high heat environments in, for example, testing of aircraft systems. A cylinder receives the cabling conduit and swivels within a slotted backshell. Slot configuration can limit the translation of the cable conduit.

Abstract: A wire guide includes first and second tubes (14, 16) having first and second perpendicular axes (22, 26), with the second tube having a backshell (40) that is pivotable about the first axis on the first tube rear end, so wires (30) can be routed in a variety of directions. The first tube rear end and the backshell are pivotally connected by a pair of balls (34, 36) that each lies in a groove (44) in the first tube rear end and in a hole (50) in the backshell portion. A strain relief member lying largely in the first tube rear portion has a through hole (82) extending along the first axis, an outside that forms a 360° groove (84), and at least one end slot (90, 92) that connects the hole to the groove. A wire (30) can extend through much of the hole, then through a slot to the groove and around the groove, and then back through a slot.

  • Patent number: 7131858
Abstract: A right-angle connector for a coaxial cable has two main components. A first component and second component are made of electrically conductive material. The second component is attached to the first component such that the second component can rotate relative to the first component. The components are temporarily latched in an initial in-line configuration. In this configuration, the two components have a common, straight central axis and receive a terminal crimped on a stripped end of a coaxial cable. The terminal is fastened within a block of dielectric material in the first component at a mating end of the connector. The second component is then rotated to bend the cable end. The second component locks into a second configuration wherein a central axis of the second component is perpendicular to a central axis of the first component. An exposed braided conductive sheath of the cable end is clamped on a section of the second component by a cylindrical ferrule.
