    Abstract: A light bulb with dual connector comprising a connector assembly for lamps/bulbs rotatably connected to the lamp body to provide alternative connective means for engaging different types of lamp sockets. The connector is integrally assembled with respect to the lamp such that the electrical connection necessary to illuminate the lamp is operative at all times. The connector is defined by an elongated body having a spiral/screw-threaded connector (spiral installation head) at one end and a pin-type (pressed installation head) at its opposite. Dependent upon the type of socket/holder available (screw threaded or pin type), the head most suited for a particular holder can be rotated to an operative position to facilitate installation of the inventive lamp-connector combination into the socket/holder.

The circuit molded structure includes the primary molded member (40) having a plurality of bus bars (42) insert-molded therein, and the secondary molded member (30) formed integrally on the primary molded member (40) by secondarily molding a resin on those portions of the primary molded member (40) other than terminal portions of the bus bars (42), the plurality of bus bars (42) forming internal circuits. Bent portions (45) of the bus bars (42) are exposed, and the secondary molding is effected with the exposed bent portions (45) covered with a resin spacer (47). As a result of the provision of the resin spacer (47), the resin will not flow to the bent portions, and the thickness becomes uniform, and any crack due to expansion and shrinkage will not occur.

Between these recesses (34) the outer surface (31) has flattened portions (35), which enable the metal shell (20) to be deformed when the insulator body (30) and the shell (20) are assembled together, and to widen temporarily near the recesses (34). As a result projections (23) in the metal shell (20) can be depressed more deeply than in the case of an outer surface (31) without flattened portions (35). Consequently, the projections (23) press clampingly in the recesses (34) of the outer surface (31), when the metal shell (20) is released, thereby tightly securing the insulator body (30) in the metal shell (20 ).

The adapter further comprises an end wall extending across the bore at one end of the tubular body and carrying two conductive pins extending through the end wall in laterally-spaced relation. First conductor within the adapter connected to one pin has a free end that engages the usual coniform end of the metal shell when the base is threaded into said bore, thereby establishing an electrical connection between the metal shell and said one pin. Second conductor connected to the other pin establishes an electrical connection between the usual eyelet of the base and the other pin when the base is threaded into said bore.
