  • Patent number: 8241052
Abstract: The present relates to an electrical connector system which includes a first connector assembly having a first connector and a second connector to be coupled one to the other; a second connector assembly having a third connector and a housing contiguous to the first connector, the housing having an open connecting face for receiving within a complementary part of the third connector so as to perform a coupling one to the other. This connector system may include a movable element which is movable between two positions, i.e.: a “first position” in which it masks at least partially the open connecting face, so that it makes impossible the coupling with the third connector; a “second position” in which it does not mask the front open connecting face, so that it makes possible the coupling with the third connector; the movable element being able to be moved into the “second position” only when said first and second connectors are fully coupled together.

  • Patent number: 7896665
Abstract: An electrical panel assembly comprised of individual electrical panel modules. The electrical panel modules comprise a first receptacle comprising transmitting electrical contacts to interface with a first connector comprising receiving electrical contacts and a first rotation ring for facilitating contact between the transmitting electrical contacts and the receiving electrical contacts, where the first rotation ring rotates between an open position permitting connection or disconnection of the first connector from the receptacle and a closed position preventing connection or disconnection of the first connector from the first receptacle. The first electrical panel module interacts with a second electrical panel module in a manner that the absence of the first connector in the first receptacle prevents the second electrical panel module from accepting a second connector.

  • Patent number: 7500865
Abstract: An electrical connector includes two connector parts each having a high-load (“HL”) housing with an HL contact and a low-load (“LL”) housing with a LL contact. One LL housing is movable relative to the other LL housing. The parts are movable to join and separate from one another. The HL housings join upon the parts joining such that the HL contacts join and establish a HL connection. The LL housings join after the one LL housing moves toward the other LL housing while the parts are joined such that the LL contacts join and establish a LL connection. The LL connection is prevented from being established until the HL connection is established as the LL housings are prevented from joining until the HL housings join. The HL connection is prevented from separating until the LL connection is separated as the HL housings are prevented from separating until the LL housings separate.

  • Patent number: 7063574
Abstract: An installation coupler is disclosed for connecting a first cable (306) to a second cable (330) in and installation for supplying power to at least two workstations (322) via a free set of plug pin socket contacts (314) and via the second cable (330). The first cable (306) has a double female installation socket (300) with two sets of contacts (314) and the second cable (330) has a male installation plug (304) that can be plugged into at least one of the sets of contacts (314), with a predetermined orientation of the plug (304) relative to the set of contacts (314). The installation plug (304) includes a protruding stop (307) that partly obstructs the lower one of the sets of contacts (314) when the plug is incorrectly connected to the upper set, and that is clear of the contacts (314) when the plug (304) is correctly connected to the lower set. The protruding stop (307) thus prevents the simultaneous connection of the plugs (304) of more than one second cable (330), to the double female socket (300).

  • Patent number: 6994572
Abstract: The invention provides an apparatus, system, and method for enabling the installation of an installable device configured with a required component in a receiving device. A component deactivated interlock obstructs the installation of the installable device when not configured with the required component. The invention makes use of an extendable and retractable plunger disposed upon the installable device, a stop barrier disposed upon the receiving device, and an actuator disposed upon the required component. The plunger normally extends beyond the installable device, and upon contacting the stop barrier of the receiving device obstructs the installation. Upon a physical connection of the required component with the installable device, the actuator retracts the plunger, thereby enabling the installation of the installable device.
