With Organic -c(=o)o- Compound (e.g., Carboxylic Acids, Esters, Etc.) Patents (Class 44/374)
  • Patent number: 9249769
Abstract: A fuel composition and method for cleaning up internal components of a fuel injector and for improver injector performance for a diesel engine. The composition includes major amount of middle distillate fuel having a sulfur content of 50 ppm by weight or less, and from about 1 to about 30 ppm by weight based on a total weight of fuel of a fuel soluble hydrocarbyl sulfonic acid or salt such as an alkyl aryl sulfonic acid or salt thereof, wherein the alkyl aryl sulfonic acid or salt thereof is effective to improve injector performance.

  • Patent number: 8900332
Abstract: Provided in a fuel additive for heavy oil, made using a composition comprising: an oil-soluble metallic compound containing any one metal selected from calcium, barium, manganese, and iron; alcohol; hydrotreated light distillate; paraffin (kerosene); mineral oil; and a nonionic surfactant. The fuel additive for heavy oil, when added in a small amount to a heavy oil, can lower the kinematic viscosity and the flash point of the heavy oil, minimize the occurrence of a residual carbon fraction, dust, a sulfur fraction, or the like, increase the caloric value of the heavy oil, and improve the combustion efficiency during the combustion of the heavy oil.

  • Publication number: 20040107635
Abstract: It has been discovered that less expensive, and in some cases synergistically effective anti-static additive blends may be added to hydrocarbon fuels to improve the conductivity thereof. The blend includes an anti-static amount of at least one hydrocarbon soluble copolymer of an alkylvinyl monomer and a cationic vinyl monomer and an anti-static amount of at least one hydrocarbon soluble polysulfone copolymer of at least one olefin and sulfur dioxide. Optional ingredients include polymeric polyamines and aryl sulfonic acids.
