Abstract: There is provided is a blower installed at a manhole opening, with which it is possible to facilitate an entry or an exit of a worker or an import or an export of an article. The present invention provides a ventilation system in a pipe conduit using the blower. Provided is a blower comprising: a ring-like or circular arc-like frame; a nozzle installed continuously or discontinuously along the frame; and compressed air supplying means for supplying the nozzle with compressed air, wherein the compressed air supplied from the compressed air supplying means is emitted while swallowing up air in the nozzle or near the nozzle, whereby, an airflow to a normal direction of a disk surface of which the flame is periphery is generated. The nozzle may be a nozzle for exhausting an air flown from an entry port of a cylindrical flow channel to an exit port of the cylindrical flow channel, and a plurality of the nozzles may be discontinuously installed along the frame.

  • Patent number: 8708183
Abstract: A lid-lift hole assembly for an underground utility vault lid comprises a liner positioned in an open-ended lid-lift hole, and a receptacle positioned below the liner. Opposite side walls of the receptacle contain thru-holes aligned with fastener holes in opposite side walls of the liner, Fasteners extending through the thru-holes and into the fastener holes (from the underside of the lid) are tightened (to apply pressure to the juncture between the receptacle and the liner) to lock the liner in the lid-lift hole. The receptacle forms an enlarged-volume, box-like enclosure rigidly (but releasably) held beneath an open passage through the liner. The space inside the receptacle can contain debris kept from entering the working area of the vault. The space inside the receptacle is shaped to receive a tool for removing the lid.

  • Patent number: 7722449
Abstract: A security grill for a security institution has an air inlet face, an air outlet face, and zigzag channels extending from a point adjacent the inlet face toward the outlet face. The zigzag channels are defined by slats which are bent at least twice in alternating directions. The zigzag channels are divided into segments each having a cross-sectional width. The segments adjacent the air outlet face have a cross-sectional width less than any of the other segments along the channel. The slats are bent at certain angles which are larger than those of conventional security grills. Corners are created along each slat as a result of bending the slats in alternating directions. The corners are rounded.

  • Patent number: 6802769
Abstract: An expanding and retractably collapsing device includes a generally cylindrical hose which is expandable and retractably collapsible and has formed on a surface thereof a circumferentially extending rib. A roller assembly having rotatable framework is disposed adjacent the hose and has roller bearings disposed in the framework for mechanically engaging the rib such that rotation of the framework in one or another direction causes either expanding or collapsing the hose. The roller assembly is generally axially stationary with respect to an axis about which the hose expands and contracts. An air supply unit is connected to the hose to deliver conditioned air. A remote controller enables operation of the air supply unit and includes a detector for detecting toxic air conditions and generating an alert signal indicating an unsuitable environmental condition.
