  • Patent number: 8414377
Abstract: In contrast to slot-type gaming machines with their preset paylines designating predetermined array positions, the paylines of this novel wagering game are unknown until the indicia in the array have been selected. The indicia are selected from a variety of indicium types, each having a different number of members for identifying adjacent indicia. The randomly selected indicia determine the paylines, if any, in the array. Conditions may be imposed that limit the size and geometry of the paylines in this wagering game.

  • Patent number: 7753374
Abstract: An automatic shuffling machine has a shuffling wheel and a card input mounted adjacent to the shuffling wheel for conveying and inserting cards into slots formed in the shuffling wheel. An insertion panel is mounted securely between the card input and the shuffling wheel, may be a curved shape corresponding to the shuffling wheel and has a tangent surface opposite to the shuffling wheel and an abutting portion disposed between an inlet passage of the card input and one corresponding card slot of the shuffling wheel. Thus, by controlling the rotation of the shuffling wheel, the automatic shuffling machine input the cards in a simple and efficient manner.

  • Patent number: 6299212
Abstract: Multi-part business forms having speciality electronically imaged indicia are produced in a low-cost, high speed, low waste, and enhanced flexibility manner. While two part or four or more part forms may be produced, especially advantageous is the production of three part forms, such as airbills. After individual first, second and third parts are produced using conventional presses, the individual webs are separately fed to a collator and while fed to the collator are electronically imaged with speciality indicia, such as the name and address of the sender, airbill number, and—for the third part—a bar code. The webs are then collated on the collator, two business forms wide. A three part airbill produced includes first and second parts of carbonless paper stock having personalized first indicia electronically imaged on them, and a third part of carbonless label stock having the personalized indicia, and including bar code indicia, electronically imaged on it.

  • Patent number: 6280322
Abstract: Improvements to self-replicating duplex forms are disclosed. Generally, a single sheet of paper is divided into original and copy panels by fold line, and carbonless coatings are applied to the panels so that information entered on the two, front and back surfaces of the original panel are reproduced on the two surfaces of the copy panel. An endorsable carbonless CB coating is applied to the original panel, either at the mill or on-press. A carbonless CF coating is applied to the copy panel so that the coated copy panel is substantially the same thickness as the coated original panel. Specific areas for filling out information on the original panel are offset, from front-to-back, and methods of checking this offset are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 6227965
Abstract: This particular combination of steps in the overall process; the spot coating on a single side of a page, as well as on both sides of the page, in a specific pattern are new and unique. The ability to print multiple orientations on a single side of a page or in duplex fashion is not technology, but is an integral part of the overall process. The folding both horizontally and vertically for the 4-part form, or the “Z” fold for the 3-part form, is not new technology, but is an integral part of the overall process in creating this finished product. The combination of the specific patterns and locations of the spot coatings, the printing in certain areas of the page with certain orientations, and the specific manner in which each single page is folded to become a 3 or 4-part form is unique and patentable.

  • Patent number: 6224111
Abstract: Unauthorized alteration of a document can be avoided in a secure document that includes a substrate (10) defining the body of the document. Indicia (24, 26, 30, 32, 36 and 40) located on the substrate (10) designate an area (42) to receive variable information by an impression. The variable information is that whose alteration is to be avoided. A chemical, carbonless imaging system (44) is disposed on the substrate (10) at the area (42) and is operative to form a visible image upon receipt of an impression and a transparent film (46) is located on the substrate (10) to cover the area (42). As a consequence of the construction, any attempt to alter an image appearing on the film (46) will be apparent from the original imaging of the chemical carbonless imaging system (44) or by smudging thereof indicating an alteration attempt.

  • Patent number: 6161316
Abstract: The visitor registers on the Invisilog by printing in one of the ten sections on Page One (Figure One). Each section is perforated to tear out and insert in a standard plastic badge holder which is worn as an identification badge. The registration information transfers to Page Three but does not transfer to Page Two. This information transfer is achieved by mechanical pressure on carbonless paper which is coated on the back of Page Two and coated on the front of Page Three. The first page (Badge Page) is attached at the bottom edge to the second page (Privacy Page). The second (Privacy Page) and third page (Visitor Log Page) are attached at the top and bottom. The Privacy Page acts as a blockout over the Visitor Log Page. The Visitor Log Page has received the entry information from Page One. The security guard or receptionist can separate Pages Two (for disposal) and Three (for filing).

  • Patent number: 6149518
Abstract: A form/label combination provides a label and multiple receipts which may be simply constructed from two continuous sheets of paper in one pass through only a coater and a label press. The first sheet of the form/label combination provides an adhesive label on the left side, and a receipt on the right. The label is releasably attached to the left side of the second sheet, while the receipt is detachably attached to the right side of the second sheet. An image-transfer mechanism is provided between the two sheets so that images impressed on the first sheet are transferred to the second sheet. A method for manufacturing such a form/label combination is also simple and easy to practice.

  • Patent number: 6135507
Abstract: A multi-part (e.g. three part) business form is particularly suited for use in dispensing sample drugs where it is necessary to have a label to be placed on a sample medication container, a like label to be placed on the patient's chart, and a record sheet, to be placed in the sample medication distribution log. First and second top and intermediate, respectively, label parts each have a face ply having pressure sensitive adhesive on a back surface and in engagement with an adhesive release coated liner ply, and a third, bottom, paper part underlies the first and second parts. Common non-variable indicia is imaged on the first part face ply, the second part face ply, and the third part, and the parts are releasably connected together (e.g. by permanent adhesive and a line of weakness, adjacent the top edges of the parts) so that at least some of the common indicia is in alignment. Carbonless coatings transfer indicia imaged on the first part face ply to the second part face ply and to the third part.

  • Patent number: 6092842
Abstract: This need is met by the present invention wherein an improved shipment form is provided comprising a partially releasable liner ply, a peel-out package label portion, and a peel-out signature tab. In accordance with one embodiment of the present invention, a shipment form is provided comprising a face sheet, a liner ply, and an adhesive interposed between the face sheet and the liner ply. The face sheet includes printed indicia for indicating an attempted delivery. The adhesive includes a laminating adhesive portion and a reusable adhesive portion. The liner ply defines a releasable liner ply portion adjoining a laminated liner ply portion. The releasable liner ply portion is configured to releasably adhere to the reusable adhesive portion while remaining adjoined to the laminated liner ply portion.
