The aim is to improve the uniformity of the end-side toothing arrangement and to allow a greater tooth depth. This is achieved by two method steps in that, in a first step before the reshaping of an end piece of a hub, a die is axially arranged on the rolling bearing in a preassembled state and, in a second step during the reshaping of the end piece and the shaping of the end-side toothing arrangement, the die radially delimits a radial recess of the rolling rivet collar as it forms. • Patent number: 8323117
Abstract: A wheel bearing device, a method of assembling a wheel bearing device, an assembly configured by the wheel bearing device and a drive shaft, and a method of assembling the assembly, in which the wheel bearing device eliminates a nut tightening operation, is capable of reducing costs, and has a projection and recess mating structure that can firmly connect an outer joint member and a hub. Axial direction load is applied to a stepped surface is provided on an outer diameter surface of an outer joint member. A projection that extends in the axial direction and is provided on one of a stem shaft of the outer joint member and an inner diameter surface of a hole section of a hub is press-fitted into a partner member along the axial direction, As a result, a recess that is in close contact with the projection over an overall mating contact area is formed in the partner member, thereby configuring a projection and recess mating structure.

Abstract: A vehicle wheel bearing apparatus has an outer member, an inner member, double row rolling elements, and a constant velocity universal joint connected to a wheel hub of the inner member. A cap, formed as a low friction member, is interposed between a caulked portion and a shoulder portion of the constant velocity joint. The cap has a disc shaped abutting portion, a cylindrical portion and an anchoring portion. The disc shaped abutting portion is adapted to abut against the caulked portion and the shoulder portion. The cylindrical portion extends axially from the radially outermost portion of the abutting portion. The anchoring portion extends radially inward from a free end of the cylindrical portion. The radially inner diameter of the anchoring portion is formed slightly smaller than the radially outer diameter of the caulked portion so that the cap can be mounted on the caulked portion in a snap-fitting manner.

Abstract: A apparatus is provided in which, in a state before being assembled to a drive target, one end of a rotating shaft is not supported by a bearing, and in this state, the rotating shaft is pressed to the side of a bracket by coil springs and thus centering of the rotating shaft is maintained. In this way, axial run-out of the rotating shaft before a magnetic motor is assembled to the drive target is inhibited. Thus, damage and deterioration in assembly efficiency as a result of axial run-out of the rotating shaft can be inhibited, such as deterioration in assembly efficiency caused by adhesion between a magnet and coils wound on an armature core, for example.
