The resilient element urges the first and second friction elements into engagement with the flywheel and the reactor plate, respectively, to rotationally lock the resilient element, the flywheel, and the plate for a torque on the flywheel less than a first value. In one embodiment, at least one of the first or second friction elements is fixedly secured to the reactor plate or the flywheel, respectively. In one embodiment, at least one of the first or second friction elements is fixedly secured to the resilient element.

Abstract: An overload protection device includes a motor, a rotatable shaft, a driven wheel, and a transmission mechanism. The rotatable shaft is meshed with the motor. The rotatable shaft includes a rod and a driving arm. A connection pole is formed on the driving arm. An inner surface of the driven wheel forms a protrusion. A sidewall of the protrusion defines a cutout therein. The transmission mechanism includes a resilient member and two arms rotatably connected on the connecting pole. The transmission mechanism is wedged in the cutout. when the motor is overloaded, the torque applied on the arms by the drive force of the motor becomes greater than the torque applied on the arms by the resilient force of the resilient member, the resilient member can no longer hold the transmission mechanism in a wedge shape, the arms become parallel each other to slide out of the cutout.

Abstract: A plastic slip clutch for an adjustable drive in an automobile includes a hub (3) which exhibits an inner profile (4), and a shaft (1) which exhibits an outer profile (2). For the purpose of transmitting torque, the shaft with the outer profile is introduced into the inner profile of the hub in form-fitting and force-fitting fashion. The inner profile (4) of the hub (3) exhibits plastic elements (5) for the transmission of force, such that the plastic elements (5) become elastically deformed under the effect of a force exceeding a given threshold force and thereby permit the outer profile (2) of the shaft (1) to slip through inside of the hub (3).

The power shutoff member and the rotary shaft 4 are joined to each other by means of screwing. When a water intrusion path formed between a hub side seating face of the hub and a shaft side seating face 44 of the rotary shaft is formed into a labyrinth structure, water is prevented from entering the seating face. An engagement portion 35 on the power shutoff member side is engaged with a hub side engagement portion 21a so that it can be accommodated in the hub side engagement portion 21a, and the power shutoff member can be rotated together when the hub is rotated. An engagement gap formed between a power shutoff member side engagement portion and a hub side engagement portion in the radial direction perpendicular to an axis of the rotary shaft is in a range from 0.

Abstract: The invention relates to a motorized spindle drive for an actuator, particularly for an aerodynamically effective surface of an aircraft, having a spindle and a motor that comprises a mechanical transmission element engaging the spindle in order to drive said spindle and causing a relative movement in the axial direction between the spindle and the motor and that is connected to an element that is fixed in place relative to the motion of the spindle, said element absorbing the torque of the motor. According to the invention, the bearing absorbing the torque of the motor comprises a detachable coupling that detaches upon a predetermined torque being exceeded and releases the motor in the sense of a free movement in the axial direction of the spindle relative to the fixed element.

Abstract: An apparatus is shown which comprises first and second mating components with a force limiter located between them. The force limiter includes a band of resilient material, with protrusions therealong, and a slip element. The band and the slip element are secured to the first mating component with the band arranged to apply a radial force against the slip element so as to press it against the second mating component. The frictional force between slip element and the second mating component is insufficient to separate the slip element and the band from the first mating component, so any slipping that occurs between the mating components happens at the boundary of the slip element and the second mating component. A desired slip force can be obtained by choosing a slip element with an appropriate coefficient of friction, rather than by varying the dimensions of the components.

Abstract: Mounting rings and methods for mounting structures to shafts are provided. The rings and methods may be used to mount other rings or housings to a shaft. The rings are characterized by having flexible inner diameters that can deflect under a radial load. The radial deflection of the inner diameter permits the rings to deflect and engage an outer diameter of a shaft. The engagement of the rings with a shaft provides at least some resistance to movement, for example, rotation and/or axial displacement, of the shaft relative to the ring and structure. In one aspect, the ring has a closed, hollow, construction, for example, a circular, oval, or polygonal closed, hollow construction. The ring may include a plurality of indentations, such as slots, on the inside diameter of the ring that may relieve at least some of the circumferential stress in the ring. Methods for using the rings to mount a structure to a shaft are also disclosed.
