Abstract: A structure and method for supporting stonelike objects on soil. The structure comprises a base, at least two sets of a plurality of tabs disposed on the base at respective opposing edges thereof and oriented substantially perpendicular thereto, and a plurality of struts disposed on the base between and attached to respective tabs of the two sets of a plurality of tabs so as to brace the tabs and receive stonelike objects for support thereof. The base has a substantially planar frame and intersecting crossmembers connecting the edges of the frame, is substantially rectangular, and has openings for water drainage. The tabs are separated by substantially V-shaped spaces. The struts are disposed substantially parallel to one another, are relatively tall in comparison with their width, and at least one of the struts spans the space between the two sets of a plurality of tabs.

  • Patent number: 7013597
Abstract: A tree ring that inhibits and/or prevents vegetation growth around the trunks of trees. The tree ring comprises an elastic outer peripheral edge and an elastic inner peripheral edge. In between elastic outer peripheral edge and the elastic inner peripheral edge is a flexible sheet. The flexible sheet has a plurality of holes. The tree ring is removably secured onto a tree pot of any dimension, size, or shape. The elastic outer peripheral edge stretches around the rim of the tree pot, and the elastic inner peripheral edge snugly fits around a tree trunk. It is noted that the distance between the elastic outer peripheral edge and the elastic inner peripheral edge that makes up flexible sheet may vary.

  • Patent number: 6964125
Abstract: A flexible curb apparatus includes a quantity of flexible polymeric material which includes a length, a width, and a height. The length is substantially greater than the width and the height. Also, a method of dividing a first ground surface from a second ground surface is comprised of the step of placing a flexible curb between the first ground surface and the second ground surface. A curved boundary can be present between the first ground surface and the second ground surface. To fabricate the flexible curb, a molding apparatus is employed. Internal drainage tubes are contained within the quantity of flexible polymeric material, and fasteners are provided for securing the tube-containing flexible curb to a ground surface. A coupler member can be connected between two separate flexible rubber curbs, and coupler fasteners are provided for connecting the coupler member to the two separate flexible rubber curbs.

Abstract: A simulated masonry module, made of blow molded plastic, has a box-like body with a textured front and top. Modules are pin-connected to each other at interleaving ends. They may be stacked, to form assemblies simulating a masonry wall. Straight, curved or angled walls may be constructed, as well as enclosures suited to contain soil or water in a tub-like liner. Filler blocks mate with the ends for make square terminal ends of wall segments. Sand or other material may be put inside the modules through a rear access port, to add mass and stability. The bottom of a module has sculpting, to loosely fit and interlock with the contour of the top of a like-module, when modules are stacked, so the horizontal joint is unobtrusive. A spike, used for connecting module ends, is retained in a shaped groove on the rear of the module, to enable convenient shipment of a module and spike combination.
