Apparatus For Making Washer Patents (Class 470/162)
  • Patent number: 10022770
Abstract: A method and tool for producing workpieces with small corner radii in relation to the cutting thickness and with greatly reduced draw-in by precision cutting in a precision cutting tool includes clamping the workpieces between two tool parts consisting of a respective top and bottom cutting dies and of a top and a bottom cutting punch. The workpiece is machined in a one-stage arrangement in at least two successive cutting sequences in different cutting directions with the following partial steps: (A) cutting out a semifinished product, matched to the workpiece geometry, in a first cutting operation in a vertical working direction with slight draw-in, and (B) finish cutting of the semifinished product, produced in step (A), in at least one further cutting operation in a working direction opposed to step (A), wherein the draw-in of partial step (A) is filled again at least in the corner region.

Abstract: A method for the manufacturing of circular washers for locking from blanks, a washer having a central hole, a first side comprising a pattern of radially extending teeth and a second side comprising a pattern of radially extending cams. The method is especially comprised in the steps of producing a washer blank having an annular shape; introducing the washer blank into a die assembly for forming a closed shaping space by a lower die portion, an opposing upper die portion, a central die portion and a support piece, the central die portion extending through a washer blank central hole; forming the blank to a washer by mutual movement of said lower and upper die portions; and opening the closed shaping space to extract the formed washer. The invention also relates to a device and a washer.

  • Patent number: 7621168
Abstract: Hexagonal washers are formed by the following steps: at least two through holes are provided in the middle of a belt of material, which are also used for positioning and advancing the belt; a first residual slot is formed between every two adjacent through holes; a second residual slot and a third residual slot are formed at the two sides of every first residual slot, thereby forming a hexagonal ring around each through hole; six wedge planes are forged around the bottom surface of each ring, and at least a V-shaped groove or a ridge is forged on the top surface of each ring; a larger through hole as the inner hole of a washer is produced at the center of each ring; the major shape of each washers is then formed without separating the washers from the belt; and the washers are fine-tuned to obtain the precise form factor and dimension before they separated from the belt.
