  • Publication number: 20120244990
Abstract: A continuously variable transmission includes a continuously variable transmission mechanism that includes an input disk, an output disk, and planetary balls sandwiched between them and that steplessly changes a transmission ratio between the input disk and the output disk by tilting the planetary balls, wherein cooling performance of a cooling device for the continuously variable transmission mechanism is enhanced as the transmission ratio becomes larger than 1 or smaller than 1.

  • Publication number: 20110015030
Abstract: A cam self-adaptive automatic speed shift hub comprises a left hub frame (7), a right hub frame (18), a case body (4), a power input device, a drive shaft (1), a wheel (14) and a brake device (20). The hub further includes a low-gear drive shaft (12), a low-gear transmission mechanism positioned on the low-gear drive shaft (12), and a cone-disc clutch cam self-adaptive speed shift assembly positioned on the drive shaft (1), in which the low-gear drive shaft (12) positioned in the case body (4) is in rotation fit with the case body (4) and in parallel with the drive shaft (1). Such a cam self-adaptive automatic speed shift hub can allow the motor/engine output power and vehicle running condition always in an optimal matching state, to achieve balance control between the vehicle driving torque and the comprehensive driving resistance.

  • Patent number: 6306060
Abstract: A roller control unit for a CVT includes a cylinder (54) having a piston (70) positioned therein and operably connected to a roller assembly of said CVT thereby to control its position. The unit includes a lubrication supply which comprises a chamber (94) between the cylinder (54) and piston (70) and one or more radially extending passageways (102) through said piston (70). These passageways are in flow communication with the roller and act to direct cooling fluid to said roller. Radial supply of said lubrication facilitates a reduction in flow losses within the supply.
