Friction Gear On Shaft Of Movably Mounted Motor Patents (Class 476/64)
  • Patent number: 8201474
Abstract: A motor arrangement on the steering wheel of a vehicle has a motor, a friction wheel drivable by the motor and engagable against the steering wheel, and a motor mount having a main support that is securely connectable to the vehicle and a motor support that is mounted on the main support for pivotal movement about an axle and is securely connectable to the motor, and a spring bearing against the main support and the motor support and attempting to turn the motor support relative to the main support in a direction of engagement. The motor arrangement includes a locking device which limits the pivoting movement of the motor support relative to the main support, adopts a locked position upon reaching a first pivot angle as the result of a pivoting movement of the motor support in the direction of disengagement, and is unlockable by a pivoting movement in the direction of disengagement which exceeds the first pivot angle by a second pivot angle.

Abstract: A friction drive device transmits torque by frictional contact between rollers. The friction drive device includes a casing, a drive roller that is supported for relative rotation with respect to the casing, a driven roller that is supported for relative rotation with respect to the casing, a cam mechanism that presses the drive roller and the driven roller into contact with each other, and a damper. The cam mechanism includes a surface that is disposed at an angle with respect to a tangent of the contact between the drive roller and the driven roller, and includes a rotational support part that is disposed on the surface and supports one of the drive roller and the driven roller such that displacement along the surface by the rotational support part maintains the frictional contact for transmitting the torque. The damper reducing vibration of the rotational support part.

Abstract: A spindle drive for a movable component includes a threaded spindle, which can be driven in rotation about a rotational axis by a reversible drive. A spindle nut is mounted nonrotatably on the spindle. By means of the spindle nut, a transmission element connected to the movable component can be driven axially with respect to the spindle axis. The spindle nut can be connected to and disconnected from the transmission element by a connecting device. A nut position sensor detects the position of the spindle nut and a component sensor detects the axial position of the transmission element. If it is concluded that there is plausibility between the signals of the nut position sensor and the component sensor, the spindle nut can be connected to the transmission element by the connecting device.

  • Patent number: 6919658
Abstract: An XY coordinate measuring stage includes a drive unit for a coordinate axis. The drive unit has a friction rod and a motor, the motor including a motor shaft in contact with a side of the friction rod. An applied pressure roller contacts an opposite side of the friction rod. At least one applied pressure spring urges the applied pressure roller, the friction rod, and the motor shaft against one another with an applied pressure force so that the motor shaft frictionally engages the friction rod, converting a rotational motion of the motor into a linear motion of the friction rod. A compensation device associated with the motor shaft generates a compensation force onto the motor shaft oppositely to the applied pressure force so as to at least partially compensate for the applied pressure force.

Abstract: The present invention provides a mechanical continuously variable transmission in which the power roller is in “line contact” with the counter roller instead of conventional “pinpoint contact”. By utilizing line contact of the power roller and the counter roller, the pressure force between the metal components of a mechanical continuously variable transmission can be reduced. In addition, the line contact also reduces extra energy for maintaining the operation thereof. The configuration of the roll surface of the power roller, which is rotated by a rotation axle connected to an input axle, is formed into a partial configuration of a sphere. A plurality of counter rollers, which are in line contact with the power roller having said roll surface, are arranged in a circle by a disk. Each counter roller is formed with a concave roll surface corresponding to the partial configuration of the sphere on the surface thereof.
