Handheld Jump Rope Patents (Class 482/82)
  • Patent number: 11850476
Abstract: A mechanical jump rope device for forward rotation of the rope with backward rotation obstructed by a ratchet and pawl mechanism includes a semicircular rope having a pair of ends. Each of the ends is coupled to a respective one of each handle of a pair of handles. Each of the ends of the rope engages by a ratchet and pawl mechanism with each of the handles. A distal end of each of the handles engages by a push button locking mechanism to a bar. Each of the handles can be attached or removed from the bar. The user can use the mechanical jump rope device with or without the bar. The rope rotates forward and the user jumps over the rope. Backward rotation of the rope is hindered by the ratchet and pawl mechanism.

  • Patent number: 8088047
Abstract: A jump rope exercise device is provided having a first elongated member and a second elongated member with each member having a free distal end, and a proximal end rotatably attached to a specially designed handle which can be gripped between the fingers of the user during the exercise period. During the exercise each handle is gripped by the user; one by the left hand and the other by the right hand, and the elongated members are maneuvered in clockwise, counterclockwise or crisscrossing direction.

  • Patent number: 8075455
Abstract: A rope-less jump rope exercise device includes a handle and a flexible, elongated lash having a first end associated with the handle and a second end. A ball-and-socket assembly interconnects the first end of the lash and the handle in order to provide rotary movement of the lash relative to the handle in all directions. The handle, lash and ball-and-socket assembly form one half of a pair of identical jump rope exercise assemblies which jointly comprise the jump rope exercise device. Alternatively, a rope-less jump rope exercise device includes a handle defining an inner cavity and a flexible, elongated lash having a first end at partially disposed within the inner cavity and a second end. A spring disposed within the inner cavity is configured to interconnect the handle and the lash and resist movement of the lash out of the inner cavity.

  • Patent number: 8062193
Abstract: An exercise apparatus for jumping exercises including at last one handle and an appendage, the apparatus further including a first attachment member including an aperture defining a first zone and a second zone, the second zone shaped similar to a cylinder. The handle includes a hub that fits at least in part within the first zone and can be rapidly engaged within the second zone so to attach the appendage to the handle while allowing rotational movement of the hub within the second zone.

  • Patent number: 8043196
Abstract: A jump rope assembly includes a rope body having two ends each connected with a connecting unit and a handle unit. The rope body has an inner portion provided with a through hole. The connecting unit includes a connecting sleeve mounted on the rope body, a fixing plug inserted into the through hole of the rope body, and a retaining ring mounted in the connecting sleeve and compressing the rope body to press the rope body toward the fixing plug so that the rope body is fixed between the fixing plug and the retaining ring. The handle unit includes a handle having an enlarged end portion mounted in the connecting sleeve, and a locking ring mounted on the enlarged end portion of the handle and locked onto the connecting sleeve.

  • Patent number: 8033962
Abstract: This invention is a skipping rope comprising a flexible cord and a pair of handles secured on the cord and defining there between an effective cord length wherein at least one of the said handles on the cord is an interference fit in the opening of the handle so the effective cord length is adjusted by moving the handle assembly along the cord member and is maintained by the interference fit between the cord and the opening in the handle. Movement of the handle is performed simply by applying tension between the cord and the handle so the user, by moving the handle in one direction or the other, may find an effective working cord length that most suits them.

  • Patent number: 7976438
Abstract: A grip assembly for a jump rope includes a grip body having a first end formed with an open casing and a second end formed with a receiving space, a counter mounted in the casing, a cover mounted on the casing and abutting the counter to locate the counter between the casing and the cover, a pivot head rotatably mounted on the casing and connected with the counter to drive the counter, and a weight member mounted in the receiving space of the grip body. Thus, the counter can count and indicate the jump number of the jump rope so that the user can know the jump number exactly. In addition, the weight member provides a damping force to the user' arms so as to exercise the user's arms.

  • Patent number: 7896783
Abstract: A jump rope having a rope section having two ends, and a connector attached to one end of the rope section, the connector having a hook section, a middle section connected at one end to the hook section, and a flange section integral with the other end of the middle section. An end cap is attached to another end of the rope section. The first handle has two open ends and a conical shape, one of the open ends having a smaller size fixedly connected to the end cap. The second handle has two open ends and a conical shape, one of the open ends having a smaller size configured to slide over the flange section of the connector and abut against the middle section of the connector allowing the connector to spin freely in the handle when the jump rope is in use and the connector is not connected to another jump rope. When the jump rope is connected to another jump rope, the second handle can be locked to the first handle so as not to be sliding around on the jump rope when the jump rope is in use.
