Abstract: A hung window includes upper and lower sashes that may operate simultaneously. Two or more pulleys or rollers are mounted at each lateral side of the window frame. A cable interconnects each lateral side of the upper and lower sashes. The cables are routed over the pulleys thereby suspending the sashes and allowing simultaneous movement of the upper and lower sash when force is applied either to raise the lower sash or lower the upper sash. This arrangement allows the hung window to be self-balancing thereby eliminating special hardware typically needed to balance the window. Simultaneous movement of the upper and lower sashes also enables the upper and lower sashes to create openings for increased air circulation within an adjacent room.

Abstract: An elevator shaft door frame incorporates a control arrangement for an elevator installation including a control unit. The control unit is fixed in a chamber of a frame element of the door frame. The chamber communicates with an outside opening in the door frame, which opens at a floor, and is closed with a cover. The cover can be moved from the closed position by demounting to a service position in which access to the chamber is free. In addition, the door frame has an inside opening to the chamber which is accessible from the elevator shaft.

Abstract: In accordance with one embodiment of the present invention, a sliding, bi-parting, service window may be operated by pressing on a push operator. In response to such push operation, a pair of bi-parting windows may be caused to slide apart sufficiently to provide a service opening. In some embodiments the windows may automatically close when pressure is released, for example, in response to the action of a weight that moves to a position of higher potential energy in response to opening of the windows.

Abstract: A side sliding door apparatus for an electric railcar includes a side sliding door suspended from a horizontal door rail with a C-shape cross-section. The side sliding door is capable of moving freely via a door roller, and a gap is formed between the door roller and a ceiling of the door rail. A guide roller with a smaller diameter than that of the door roller is provided adjacent to the door roller. A gap between the guide roller and the ceiling of the door rail is set to be smaller than that between the door roller and the ceiling of the door rail. Preferably, a gap adjusting mechanism is provided for adjusting the gap between the guide roller and the ceiling of the door rail.

  • Patent number: 6863001
Abstract: A sliding door apparatus has a sliding door movably supported on a horizontal door rail for opening and closing an entrance of a vehicle, i.e. railroad car. The sliding door is locked when a latch member engages a fixing member disposed on the sliding door. When an emergency handle is operated, the latch member is released from the fixing member, and the sliding door can be opened manually. A motion of the emergency handle is directly transmitted to the latch member to release the latch member from the fixing member. Therefore, it is possible to operate the sliding door reliably without a problem associated with the flexible wire.

Abstract: A side sliding door apparatus for an electric railcar includes two sliding doors movably supported by a horizontal door rail to open and close an entrance of the electric railcar. The side sliding door apparatus includes an actuator for actuating the sliding door, a locking mechanism for locking the sliding door in a closed state, and an unlocking mechanism for unlocking the sliding door locked by the locking mechanism. The actuator, the locking mechanism, and the unlocking mechanism are provided in each of the two sliding doors. Abstract: A door system for a cold storage locker has increased resistance to damage when by including resilient door panels that flex when hit by a forklift. A high degree of insulation is achieved by the choice and thickness of the resilient foams therein. Also, the resilient door panels are magnetically attracted to a gasket seal on a doorframe to provide an affirmative seal. Active magnetic control may enhance the attraction or repulsion of the door panel. Frost control is realized by warming air from the cold storage locker and passing it through air channels in the door panel proximate to the gasket seal and down an astragal interface between door panels. Door panels of laminate, bagged poured foam formation, and self-skinning foam formation give further reduced cost of manufacture and shipping.
