Abstract: Embodiments of the presently disclosed invention may enable electrical components and connections to be monitored within electrical distribution equipment cabinets having a blanking panel. Such an IR/UV-permitting panel may replace the pre-existing blanking panel in order to monitor the adjacent area having the targeted components and connections to be monitored. NFC tags may be utilized in connection with an IR/UV-permitting panel to enable data acquisition and management systems for the monitoring of electrical components in a cabinet.
Abstract: A safety lock is disclosed and comprises a body, a bolt and a handle. The body is securable to one member. The bolt is mounted to the body for reciprocation between projecting and retracted positions. In the projecting position, a bolt end portion protrudes beyond the body and is engageable in another member, to prevent relative movement of the members. In the retracted position, the end portion is incapable of engagement in the other member, to permit said relative movement. The handle is releasably engageable to the bolt. The handle, body and bolt are adapted such that when the handle is engaged to the bolt, the handle permits manual reciprocation of the bolt, and are further adapted such that when the handle is disengaged from the bolt and the bolt end portion is inaccessible for manual manipulation, the bolt is inaccessible for said manual reciprocation.
Abstract: An assembly and method for installing a viewing window into a single hole in a panel of an enclosure from a single side. A viewing window assembly comprises actuators and attachment members configurable to allow the attachment members to pass through a hole in a panel from a front side. Upon actuation of the actuators, the attachment members may engage one or both of the back surface of the panel and the inner edge of the hole therein in order to secure the window assembly to the panel.

Abstract: A horizontal side-moving door with a side-winding curtain or horizontally translating panel includes a breakaway brace that helps hold a relatively rigid leading edge of the curtain or panel in a substantially vertical orientation. Should a forklift accidentally strike the leading edge of the curtain or panel, a replaceable shear pin incorporated in the brace breaks away to release the leading edge, thus protecting the edge from damage. Although the shear pin can break into two or more pieces, the brace includes means for holding the pieces in place and preventing them from falling and hitting anything underneath the pin. Although with some limitations, the door is still operational even while the pin is broken.

Abstract: An extendable and retractable enclosure provides an additional storage or work area in a structure which has a limited amount of available space, such as a motor home or trailer. The enclosure is installed in an opening, such as for a window, and can be selectively moved to an extended position where the enclosure extends outside the structure, or to a retracted position where the enclosure is positioned inside the structure. Two spaced apart swing arms pivotally mount the enclosure to the structure, and allow the enclosure to be selectively moved to the extended or retracted positions.

Abstract: A window for use in buildings for housing animals, such as barns, that is openable in two generally perpendicular directions, is provided. The window includes an outer frame secured within an opening in the structure, a middle frame that is pivotally secured to the outer frame, and an inner frame pivotally secured to the middle frame. A first pivoting mechanism includes a pair of hinges that enable one of the frames to be pivoted with respect to the outer frame along a generally vertical axis, and the second pivoting mechanism enables the other frame to be pivoted with respect to the outer frame along a generally horizontal axis. The second mechanism pivots and slides one of the frames in order to open the window for ventilation purposes while enabling the remaining frame to remain closed, thereby preventing the entering or exiting of large objects through the window, such as an animal's head.

Abstract: A device for opening a passenger door of an aircraft includes a supporting arm connected movably to the fuselage frame, a wishbone connecting the support arm to the passenger door, a first journal rotatably connecting the wishbone to the support arm, and a lifting mechanism. The lifting mechanism includes a lifting shaft for raising and lowering the door, a lowering safety shaft, a controllable drive engaged with the lowering safety shaft to rotate lowering safety shaft, and a lowering safety link. The lifting shaft includes two ends and a roller lever disposed at each end, wherein when the passage door is in the closed position, each roller lever engages a fuselage frame mounting. The lowering safety shaft includes an end and a roller lever disposed at the end. The lowering safety shaft is engaged with the lifting shaft. The lowering safety link includes a second journal having an elongated configuration.
Abstract: In a door system for a passenger aircraft, a door panel is mounted on an aircraft structure so that it can pivot around at least one pivot axis and the door panel is movably guided at the end of the inward pivoting movement on a lifting movement path that runs essentially in conformance with the aircraft outside contour and runs transversely to the pivoting direction. Interengaging elements on the door frame and door panel are engaged in the completely closed position, moved out of shapewise engagement in an opposite lifting direction at the beginning of the opening process. The lifting movement takes place in a manner which is favorable for installation and is not prone to problems, while retaining an essentially horizontal pivoting movement path relative to the aircraft structure in such fashion that the pivot axis of the door panel is supported on the door frame with tilting position control and at the end of opening lifting movement, moves into essentially vertical alignment relative to the door frame.
Abstract: A mechanism for selectively securing a cover to a flange of a pressure vessel. The cover and flange each have openings that are aligned when the cover is in position facing the flange. The mechanism includes an anchor plate having a hole therethrough. A piston is slidable in a direction normal to the cover in alignment with the opening therethrough. A stud extends from to the piston with a stud head remote from the piston. The stud head fits through the opening of the closer of the cover and flange and through a wider portion of the anchor plate hole, and is positioned opposite the flange and cover from the piston when the cover is positioned over the flange. The stud head does not fit through a narrower portion of the anchor plate hole. A resilient member biases the piston away from the cover. A selectively activated actuator overcomes the resilient member and forces the stud head away from the flange and the anchor plate.

Abstract: A pressure vessel according to the present invention includes a housing with a cylindrical upper portion having a plurality of radially extending catch members on its circumference and a lid for mating with the housing with a cylindrical side edge having a plurality of hook-shaped retaining members spaced about its circumference to correspond with the catch members. A control system operates a lift to lower the lid onto the housing. A drive cylinder connected between the lid and the housing is then enabled to rotate the lid relative to the housing about its central axis between a locked position and an unlocked position. Spacers mounted to the inner surfaces of the retaining members act as bearings, guiding the lid as it rotates. As the lid rotates toward its locked position, finger portions of the retaining members cam into underlocking engagement with the catch members to draw the lid onto the housing.
Abstract: A collapsible forage feeding is provided with opposing C-shaped frames supported on wheels. The frames have front and rear members which are slidably received within guide tracks such that the frames can be rolled towards one another by the animals as feed is consumed and thereby provide access to additional feed. The wheels are rotatably mounted to the frames so that the device can be moved longitudinally or so that the frames can be moved laterally with respect to one another.
Abstract: A baking oven has a flame tube defining a baking chamber and a charging opening oriented in a vertical plane; a door for opening and closing the charging opening; a rail structure secured to the door and extending into the oven externally of the flame tube for providing a sliding support for the door for sliding movement in a horizontal direction towards and away from the charging opening. The door is horizontally divided into a lower door portion and an upper door portion. The upper portion is pivotally attached to the lower door portion to provide for a swinging motion of the upper door portion from an upright orientation in an arcuate vertical direction away from the charging opening.
