Specialized floor grommets installed in the cable openings are comprised of a surrounding frame mounting sealing elements comprised of thin, flexible elements which are anchored at one end in the grommet frame and extend toward the center of the opening, from each side, to effectively close the opening against significant flow of conditioned air from the plenum below. Cables passing through the grommet opening cause minimal deflection of the flexible elements to limit the escape of conditioned air. Abstract: A mullion assembly mountable in a door frame includes a bottom fitting attached to a floor and a top fitting attached to the door frame above the bottom fitting. The top fitting supports a latch engagement assembly for engaging a latch assembly positioned in a mullion cavity of a mullion. The latch assembly has a latch extendable from the mullion cavity to engage the latch engagement assembly supported by the top fitting and hold the mullion in a fixed position. Retraction of the latch is controlled by a key lock assembly connected to the latch assembly through an actuating link assembly. The key lock assembly permits key controlled disengagement of the latch from the latch engagement assembly, followed by temporary removal of the mullion from its position in the door frame.

  • Patent number: 5450697
Abstract: A mullion assembly mountable between a floor and a door frame includes an engagement assembly attached to either the floor or the door frame. A mullion defining a mullion cavity is positioned in removable attachment with the engagement assembly, and a cylinder lock assembly is positioned in the mullion cavity. The cylinder lock assembly has a key lock cylinder configured for positioning in either a locked position to engage the engagement assembly and hold the mullion in an upright position in the door frame, or in an unlocked position disengaged from the engagement assembly to permit removal of the mullion from the doorway.

  • Patent number: 5435102
Abstract: A mullion assembly mountable in a door frame includes a bottom fitting attached to a floor and a top fitting attached to the door frame above the bottom fitting. The top fitting supports a bolt engagement assembly for engaging a lock assembly positioned in a mullion cavity of a mullion. The lock assembly has a bolt extendable from the mullion cavity to engage the bolt engagement assembly supported by the top fitting and hold the mullion in a fixed position. Retraction of the bolt is controlled by a key lock assembly that allows controlled access disengagement of the bolt from the bolt engagement assembly, followed by pivoting movement of the mullion away from its upright position in the door frame.

  • Patent number: 5005315
Abstract: A multi-panel sliding closure unit having a plurality of slidable panels such as doors or insect screen panels are used to close a large opening in a building wall such as an opening facing out onto a patio or deck. Adjacent panels stand in edge-to-edge relationship but between adjacent panels is a vertical jamb post of H shaped cross-section into which the panels fit, holding them securely on their vertical edges. The jamb posts each fit snugly between a pair of upper and lower tracks that also hold the horizontal edge of the panels for sliding movement therealong. At one end of the tracks is a laterally movable storage module for storing panels slid therein from the tracks.

  • Patent number: 4435010
Abstract: An improved means for providing overhead access to the freight compartment of a load carrying vehicle to facilitate loading and unloading of cargo. An elongate opening is defined in the roof of the compartment and includes a plurality of hinged door panels that provide a weathertight cover for the opening. Spanning the opening is at least one cross-brace which is rigidly tied to the roof at opposing edges of the opening so as to maintain the opening and afford stability to the opposing sidewalls. The cross-brace, which serves also to seat the door panels, is pivotally secured adjacent one edge about a horizontal axis, preferably at the opposing edge to that where the doors are hinged, such that the panels and cross-braces can be pivoted laterally away from the opening by an individual situated atop the van. When access is had, as in conventional vehicles, through an opening in the sidewalls, or endwall of the vehicle, the invention also contemplates including a movable header over the lower opening.

  • Patent number: 4327523
Abstract: An improvement in casement windows provides a mullion portion which is removable to allow for emergency egress through the window, a pivotably disengagable connection being formed between one end of the mullion portion and the head jamb of the window frame, and a tongue and groove connection being formed between downwardly and outwardly inclined complementary surfaces on the other end of the mullion portion and the sill of the window frame that allows the mullion portion to slide outwardly from a position seated in the frame to effect separation of the mullion portion from the frame simply upon opening of a sliding latch.

  • Patent number: RE41863
Abstract: A floor grommet for use in building and office structures supplied with air conditioning via under floor plenum. Directed flow of conditioned air is optimized by limiting the escape of air from the plenum into the space above the floor by leakage through floor openings provided for power cables, data cables and the like. Preferably, the resilient, flexible elements are filamentary in nature.
