  • Patent number: 11851933
Abstract: An encoder driven non-handed electric door operator for operating a door comprises an encoder, shaft, coil spring and a motor. The motor is configured to receive an external set of predetermined instructions. A plurality of gear assemblies in communication with each other allow the door operator to function. The shaft is solid and has nondetachable gear/splines at each end that drives the door operator. A controller which may be at a remote location transmits an external set of predetermined instructions to the encoder motor for proper operation. The door operator also has top and bottom plates that are parallel to each other. The plates are spaced a distance sufficient from each other to accommodate the encoder motor, encoder motor mounting plate, first, second and third gear assemblies, shaft, and coil spring therebetween.

Abstract: A temporal engaging portion is provided at a bin. Therefore, by engaging a bin-side arm with a bin-side engaging portion and temporally engaging a panel-side arm with the temporal engaging portion after elastically deforming the panel-side arm, a torsion spring can be set to the bin before the bin is coupled with a panel. The bin set with the torsion spring is inserted into a recess of the panel. During rotation of the bin toward a closed position, a temporal engagement of the panel-side arm with the temporal engaging portion is released, and upon being released, the panel-side arm is elastically sprung-back to be finally engaged with the panel-side engaging portion. As a result, by only coupling the bin set with the torsion spring with the panel, the bin and the torsion spring can be coupled with the panel so that coupling work is improved.

  • Patent number: 8988213
Abstract: A safety device for safeguarding a movable, guided movement element against undesired collisions with an object situated on a movement path of the movement element, said device comprising at least two sensors for detecting the object and the movement element and for outputting signals depending on the detection, and also having an evaluation unit for evaluating signals of the sensors and for generating a switch-off signal on the basis of the evaluation. For improved recognition of a risk of collision, the evaluation unit is designed to acquire from the at least two sensors a currently detected state vector from a set of state vectors which unambiguously comprise all possible combinations of the signals of the sensors, and to generate the switch-off signal in the case of predetermined state vectors.

Abstract: A deployable security barrier system (10, 10?, 110) is formed by deploying bullet-proof or bullet-resistant barrier fence sections (26, 26?, 28, 28?). A control system which enables rapid deployment of the sections to form across a hallway or other closed area a barrier fence (30, 130) which is high enough to prevent or at least greatly impede a person from passing through or over the fence. The barrier fence (30, 130) may extend from floor to ceiling or to a fixed barrier extending downwardly from the ceiling. The barrier fence may have at least one transparent section (26a, 28a) to enable law enforcement or security persons to observe the situation on the other side of the barrier fence. The controls also permit at least partial opening of the barrier fence to enable law enforcement or security personnel to pass through it as needed. Supplemental alarm and/or distracting and/or disabling agencies may be deployed in addition to the barrier fence (30, 130).

Abstract: A draft guard balancer is provided that attaches to, or is otherwise mechanically coupled to, or an integral part of, an existing balance shoe or balancer for a fenestration product such as a double hung window. The draft guard balancer creates a weatherstop along the track of the fenestration product that resists air, water, dirt, dust, pollen, and insects from entering the track and then the building. The draft guard balancer may be used with a balancer having a variety of springs, spring assemblies, balancer shoes and pivot bar arrangements. The draft guard balancer creates a seal that also prevents the increased friction that results from dirt and debris entering the track, thus making for a more energy efficient, easier to operate fenestration product. The draft guard balancer is equally applicable to both top and bottom sashes of a double hung window as well as other fenestration products.

  • Patent number: 8960372
Abstract: An apparatus for use with an elevator car is operable to selectively lock an elevator car door. The apparatus verifies that the elevator car door is closed, locks the elevator car door, and verifies that a lock is engaged. Once conditions are met, the apparatus signals an elevator controller that the elevator car can move through a hoistway. The apparatus further ensures that passengers can safely disembark from the elevator car by detecting the position of the elevator car relative to a designated landing zone within the hoistway, and confirming the elevator car is stopped at a landing zone prior to disengaging the lock. The apparatus thus ensures that the elevator car door remains closed while the elevator car is in motion or between landing zones.

Abstract: A sash mounting structure includes positioners which are respectively provided at the lower end of an insertion support portion and the upper end of a lower sash that are inserted into and supported by a door panel, and which define the position of the lower sash relative to the side sash by being mutually engaged; and a fixer which is provided between the lower sash and the door panel, has a predetermined degree of freedom in fixing position in a vertical direction and fixes the lower sash to the door panel, wherein the lower sash is fixed to the door panel with the lower sash being positioned by the positioners. This structure strikes a balance between easiness of positioning the lower sash and accommodation of variations in accuracy, thus making it possible to improve the mounting workability when mounting the lower sash to the door panel.
