Abstract: A dispersant composition comprising (A) 20-80% by weight of an acetylene glycol or ethoxylated acetylene glycol and (B) 20-80% by weight of a graft product of an allyl alcohol-maleic anhydride-styrene copolymer with a polyoxyalkylene monoalkyl ether, comprising (a) polyoxyalkylene monoalkyl ether units, (b) maleic anhydride units, and (c) styrene units, in a compositional ratio a:b:c of 25-40:25-40:25-40 in mole percent, and having a {overscore (Mw)} of 1,000-50,000 exerts improved dispersing, anti-foaming and viscosity-reducing effects, when used in small amounts in dispersing of inorganic particulates.
Abstract: The invention provides a polymer composition for flexibilizing building materials, in the form of their aqueous dispersion or of powder redispersible in water, containing
a) at least one water-insoluble, film-forming polymer of one or more ethylenically unsaturated monomers capable of free radical polymerization,
b) at least one compound from the group consisting of the water-soluble polymers of one or more ethylenically unsaturated monomers capable of free radical polymerization, and the ionic and nonionic emulsifiers, and
c) a mixture of at least two organosilicon compounds, at least one of which is an amino-functional organosilicon compound present in salt form.

Abstract: An aqueous composition and a method of applying an aqueous composition to a surface in which the surface active properties of the composition are improved through addition of a new class of surfactants based on the trans isomers of olefinic diols having the formula: ##STR1## wherein each of R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, and R.sub.4 is the same or a different C1 to C9 linear or branched alkyl group and the total number of carbons atoms in the olefinic diol is between 12 and 17. The compounds are useful in lowering the equilibrium surface tension of aqueous organic compositions; for example, those used in coatings, inks and adhesives.
Abstract: The invention relates to a new lipopolysaccaride biosurfactant, a strain of Acinetobacter calcoaceticus which produces this biosurfactant, and a process for its preparation. The biosurfactant has a high emulsifying capacity, it promotes the biodegradation of hydrocarbons in water and favors the adhesion of microorganisms to the water/oil interface.
Abstract: Disclosed are stable monophasic liquid compositions comprising water, one or more cationic, anionic, amphoteric and/or nonionic surfactants, exhibiting partial solubility in water or in concentrated formulations, and one or more coupling agents which are C.sub.7 -C.sub.12 alkane substituted with two hydroxyl groups or alkoxylates thereof with up to 20 moles of one or more of ethylene oxide, propylene oxide and/or butylene oxide.
Abstract: An emulsifying composition comprising from 10 to 40 weight % of a mixture alkylpolyglycosides and from 90 to 60 weight % of at least one fatty alcohol of formula R'OH, where R' is a saturated or unsaturated alkyl radical having from 12 to 18 carbon atoms, where the mixture of alkylpolyglycosides comprises:R.sub.1 O(G.sub.1)X.sub.1 (I)in which R.sub.1 is a saturated or unsaturated alkyl radical having 12 or 14 carbon atoms, G.sub.1 is the residue of a sugar and X.sub.1 is between 1 and 5;(ii) an alkylpolyglycoside of formula (II)R.sub.2 O(G.sub.2)X.sub.2 (II)in which R.sub.2 is a saturated or unsaturated alkyl radical having 16 carbon atoms, G.sub.2 is the residue of a sugar and X.sub.2 is between 1 and 5; and(iii) an alkylpolyglycoside of formula (III)R.sub.3 O(G.sub.3)X.sub.3 (III)in which R.sub.3 is a saturated or unsaturated alkyl radical having 18 carbon atoms, G.sub.3 is the residue of a sugar and X.sub.
