  • Patent number: 11286684
Abstract: Disclosed is a connection apparatus and foundation connection method developed in order to be used in guyed overhead line towers. The foundation connection method and connection apparatus mentioned above enables all the legs of a tower to be fixed onto a single base plate. According to the structure of foundation connection apparatus, the angle determining tubes welded to the base plate are capped with a welded treated cap plate which is connected to the bottom cone plate located at the ends of the legs of the towers by a pin. To provide angular rotation between the connection apparatus and the leg, the beveled plate is squeezed between the treated cap plate and the bottom cone plate.

The webs include structural webs that extend radially outward from a center portion of the base web, and a plurality of ring-like concentric webs that provide additional structural support. The webs form a plurality of upwardly-opening pockets, and apertures through the base web provide for drainage of water and the like from the upwardly-opening pockets. The footing form may have a one-piece molded construction. The footing form provides sufficient support to thereby eliminate the need for concrete or the like to support the posts.

Abstract: Smokehouses (20) or other similar thermal processing cabinets or houses are provided with improved floor assemblies (22) which eliminate fluid collection and provide a high degree of structural integrity. The smokehouses (20) include upright walls (24, 26) supported on the floor assemblies (22). Each floor assembly (22) has one or more weldment frame assemblies (38) including a peripheral frame assembly (46) with opposed wall receiving channel segments (52) and frame elements (54). Drainage structure such as one or more tubular drain units (44) are also preferably secured to the weldment frame assemblies (38) and are positioned to effect proper liquid drainage. Tread plates (42) are secured to the weldment frame assemblies (38). In order to construct a floor assembly (22), an appropriately sized recess (66) is formed and the weldment frame assemblies (38) and drain units (44) are installed. A monolithic pour of concrete (40) is then placed within the weldment frame assemblies (38) and allowed to cure.

Abstract: A tower and wind turbine supporting structure which at least partially envelops the tower. The tower is of uniform cross sectional configuration throughout and has a plurality of outriggers. The outriggers are connected with the tower after the wind turbines and their supporting structure have been positioned at the base of the tower, raised to their point of attachment and secured in place. Individual foundation members for each vertical tower member and for each outrigger are in the form of micro piles and may include a plurality of micro piles and a manifold for maintaining upper end portions thereof in desired positions. Another aspect of the method of the invention involves providing a tower of uniform cross section, positioning wind turbines and their supporting structures sequentially at the base of the tower, raising them and mounting them on the tower sequentially, and thereafter providing a plurality of outriggers and their foundations and attaching them to the tower.

Abstract: Disclosed are apparatus and corresponding methodology for providing a base support, such as including concrete, and used such as for a wind-driven generator. Precast concrete cylinders are stacked in place upon a platform that may be partially precast and partially cast in place during assembly and supported, in certain embodiments, by plural concrete legs, the other ends of which are supported on a unitary or subdivided concrete foundation. In other embodiments, the platform may be supported by ribbed concrete panels. The concrete cylinders are glued together using an epoxy and then secured by an internal vertical post tension system extending from the platform to the upper most cylinder. Different types of concrete are used between upper and lower sections of the stacked cylinders. The lower section uses reinforced concrete while the upper section used ultra high performance fiber reinforced concrete.

Abstract: The current invention is a concrete post anchor and method of using comprising two substantially vertical side brackets, side brackets operatively connected opposite one another and spaced apart with a base bracket and a back bracket forming a U-shaped bracket. A pair of front brackets is removably attached to the side brackets. An anchor and a portion of the side brackets extend below the base bracket forming an anchor tab and a side bracket tab. A pair of anchor rods is operatively connected to each side bracket tab. The anchor can be embedded in a concrete pier and then a post can be secured within the concrete post anchor with the front brackets and fastened to the anchor. The concrete post anchor withstands increased loads and forces associated with post built-type buildings without permitting the wood post to directly contact the soil, thereby creating substantially stronger and longer-lasting post buildings.
