  • Patent number: 11603666
Abstract: A sheathed building uses corrugated hat-channel furring channels to attach metal panels to an underlying wall structure in a semi-floating manner. The corrugated furring channels are attached to backsides of the metal panels using high-bond-strength tape, and the corrugated furring channels are “hooked” onto corrugated flanges of rail brackets that have been attached to the wall structure to secure the metal panels to the building. Using tape instead of conventional fasteners (e.g., screws or nails) reduces penetrations through the panels and reduces moisture behind the panels. The corrugations facilitate drainage of moisture from behind the panels and drying air circulation. In other embodiments such as a clapboard arrangement of metal panels, rail brackets are not used, and the corrugated furring channels are used to mount the panels in overlapping fashion with no fasteners penetrating through the panels.

A truss-receiving space is formed between the upper plate and leg having a top entrance opening for receiving the bottom of the truss when the fastener is moved upwardly relative to the truss. The fastener is self-supporting on the truss to make the nailing of the fastener to the truss and wall member easier and safer.

  • Patent number: 8904726
Abstract: A high-strength disengagement prevention pintle veneer tie and anchoring system employing the same is disclosed. The high-strength veneer tie utilizes modified compressed wire formatives formed from a wire formative construct that is cold-worked, with the resultant body having substantially semicircular edges and flat surfaces therebetween. The edges are aligned to receive compressive forces transmitted from the outer wythe. The veneer tie hereof, when part of the anchoring system, interengages with wall anchor and is dimensioned to preclude veneer tie movement and pullout through the use of the U-shaped securement portions. The veneer tie is installed within the wall anchor through a swinging motion, in either an over and through or under and through the anchor installation, fully securing the veneer tie within the anchor and providing flexibility during installation.

  • Patent number: 8904727
Abstract: An anchoring system for cavity walls is disclosed and includes a wall anchor and a high-strength partially compressed veneer tie. The anchor preserves the insulation integrity by sealing the insertion points in the inner wythe. The veneer tie utilizes ribbon cavity portions that are cold-worked and vertically compressed, with the resultant body having substantially semicircular edges and flat surfaces therebetween. The edges are aligned to receive compressive forces transmitted from the outer wythe. The veneer tie, when part of the anchoring system, interengages with the wall anchor and is dimensioned to preclude significant veneer tie movement, preclude pullout and shed moisture and mortar within the cavity.
