The deflector is disposed about the sprinkler and centered along a sprinkler axis with an internal deflecting surface circumscribed about the sprinkler axis, the internal deflecting surface having a central region, a peripheral region and an arcuate annulus region between the central region and the peripheral region, the central region being a planar surface disposed perpendicular to the sprinkler axis and contiguous with the arcuate annulus to define a first diameter of the deflector, the arcuate annulus being contiguous with the peripheral region to define a second diameter of the deflector and the peripheral region including a plurality of spaced apart planar surfaces skewed outwardly with respect to the sprinkler axis to form an outermost discontinuous peripheral edge of the deflector to define a third diameter of the deflector.

    Abstract: Embodiments of the invention comprise forming a billet from molten steel and hot rolling the billet to reduce the cross sectional area of the billet. Thereafter, the billet is hot rolled into a lead pass bar having a cross-sectional area comprising a reduced width dimension located adjacent to the center longitudinal axis of the bar. In one embodiment of the invention, the billet can be formed into a lead pass bar having a cross-sectional area in the shape of an hourglass or peanut by feeding the billet through a first set of rolls. After the lead pass bar is formed, it is passed through a second set of rolls in order to form the substantially continuous threaded rebar without longitudinal ribs. The cross-sectional area of the lead pass bar helps to produce a substantially continuous threaded rebar product without longitudinal ribs using standard rebar manufacturing tooling and equipment.

The square, rectangular, elliptical, trapezium, and triangular rebars and the rebar with round edges and corners substitute the conventional circular rebar, so that the rebars can be tied easily to save the space occupied. Since the distance of the resultant force of the tensile stresses of the rebar from the boundary of the concrete becomes smaller or the concrete protecting layer becomes thicker, the change of the shape increases the bonding between the rebar and concrete, and the safety of construction is improved. The non-circular rebar includes a smooth rebar and a ribbed rebar with a non-circular main cross-section.

The surface of the spiral strip may be entirely or partially corrugated with ribs of arbitrary shape and having height in a range of 0.05% to 0.30% of the thickness of the strip. In another aspect, method for manufacturing a reinforcement structure comprises flattening a wire rod into a flat strip, corrugating it with ribs, and twisting the ribbed strip into a spiral of the specified pitch.
