Means To Hold Flap Patents (Class 53/387.1)
  • Patent number: 9027315
Abstract: A packing device according to an embodiment includes a supply station, a right end effector, a left end effector, a right arm unit, a left arm unit, and a forming station. A cardboard box in a flat state is placed on the supply station. The cardboard box developed three-dimensionally is placed on the forming station. The right arm unit includes the right end effector provided with a suction unit. The left arm unit includes the left end effector provided with a suction unit. The packing device performs an operation of developing the cardboard box and an operation of moving the cardboard box to the forming station by using the right arm unit and the left arm unit while sucking both side surfaces of the cardboard box placed on the supply station by using the suction units.

  • Publication number: 20110197551
Abstract: A method and system for packaging products in a container employs an active compression assembly having pressure members which are shifted from a raised position to a lowered operational position. In the operational position, each pressure member holds a respective upper container flap against a lower container flap while an interposed adhesive sets. More specifically, with the at least one pressure member pushing upon the upper flaps, both the container and the at least one pressure member are forced to move in unison along a manufacturing line while the at least one pressure member applies pressure on the upper flaps as the adhesive sets to seal the upper flaps to the lower flaps and close the upper opening.

  • Patent number: 7739856
Abstract: An apparatus for forming an end closure structure of a carton. The end closure structure is formed from minor end flaps and major end flaps. The apparatus includes a carton conveyor for transferring the carton in a flow direction along a carton conveyor path, a major end flap retaining guide assembly for retaining the major end flaps in an outwardly upright position, a minor end flap retaining guide assembly for retaining the minor end flaps in an inwardly folded position, and a gluing station for applying adhesive to the major and minor end flaps.

  • Patent number: 6952911
Abstract: An automatic case packaging system having a conveyor and stacking assembly, a servo-powered elevator and a case positioning assembly. The conveyor and stacking assembly is provided to receive a plurality of articles and to form a stack of the articles. The conveyor has a flat, receiving portion and an arcuate portion that feeds the articles to the top of an incline where they are collated into a stack for loading. The case positioning assembly is located adjacent the servo-powered elevator and is provided to receive a case in a receiving position, to move the case to a loading position wherein an open end of the case is located adjacent the stack of articles that has been lowered on the elevator. An air-powered ram is provided to push the stack of articles into the open end of the case. When the stack is lowered to the case height, side guides open to guide the cartons into the case to prevent the cartons from hanging on the edge of the case.

  • Patent number: 6904733
Abstract: A machine is used for packing bottles by assembling cardboard boxes starting from an unfolded sheet (2) with adhesive strips, in such a way that in an initial step the bottles (6) to be packed are placed on a central part of the unfolded sheet of the box, a central part that will correspond with the bottom of the box. Once the bottles have been put on this central part of the unfolded sheet (2), in a downward movement, the sheet will encounter a funnel-shaped structure (14), whose mouth and due to the weight of the bottles (6), causes the box (8) to be partially assembled, introducing itself inside this funnel-shaped structure (14), resting at its bottom on a movable platform coupled on longitudinal guides (16).

Abstract: The invention relates to a device (1) for feeding cigarette packets (3) out of a packing machine, where the packets (3), being substantially in the shape of parallelepipeds, are moved forward with their large lateral faces (4) in contact with each other along a first path (P1) by a conveyor (2) that stabilises them in a defined direction (D) transversal to the large lateral faces (4). Downstream of the stabilising conveyor (2), there is a unit (33) for printing on the packets (3).

  • Patent number: 6374997
Abstract: A conveyor system has a bucket with a pivoting side wall. The pivoting movement of the leading side wall is actuated by a cam follower which engage; a cam rail. As the bucket passes through a carton loading station, the cam rail moves the cam follower to adjust the rotational position of the side wall. This pivoting movement will push back the leading side flap of a carton, thus making the loading of the carton easier. For different sized cartons, the transverse position of the cam rail can be adjusted thus altering the relevant rotational movement of the pivoting side wall.
