Abstract: An embodiment of filter unit heat exchanger according to the present invention provides improved operability and manufacturability. Such device may include a housing substantially surrounding a heat exchange assembly. Provided through the housing are one or more tortuous fluid flow paths used to direct airflow therethrough around portions of the heat exchange assembly for efficient operation. The tortuous path(s) may be provided by one or more nozzle apertures on an input side of the housing and one or more diffuser apertures on an output side of the housing, where the nozzle apertures and diffuser apertures are offset to cause desired airflow deflection. The filter unit may include desired symmetries so as to improve manufacturability and/or installation.
Abstract: A system for purification of air in an inner space has a housing having air inlet unit and air outlet units; air filtering means located in the housing between the air inlet unit and the air outlet units; and vertical attachment attached to the air outlet units and extending vertically upwardly so that air enters the housing at a lower level through the air inlet units and leaves the system at an outlet of the attachment at a level substantially higher than the level of the inlet units.
Abstract: A two-stage filtration system is coupled with an oven, such as a solder reflow oven, to remove a vapor stream from the oven and to remove organic compounds that have volatilized from a solder flux and other contaminants from the vapor stream. The filtration system includes a first stage for trapping larger particles and a second stage including a packed bed of wettable media, such as steel balls, for trapping smaller particles and serving as a nucleation site for condensed organic compounds. The first stage can be a centrifugal self-cleaning element in the form of a mesh strainer coupled with a rotary motor for spinning the mesh strainer.
Abstract: A method for producing bisphenol A in prill form is disclosed. Molten bisphenol is top-fed into a prilling tower via a plate containing a plurality of nozzles. A gas coolant guided through a circuit is led into said tower in a counter flow direction. The prills are cooled to about room temperature, collected at the bottom of the tower and removed. Also disclosed is the device for carrying out the inventive method and the prills thus produced.
