  • Patent number: 11459676
Abstract: Automatic operation of a ring spinning system containing a ring spinning machine having spinning positions and a winding machine having winding positions. Yarn is spun at one of the spinning positions and wound up to a cop. Values of a parameter characteristic for the operation of the spinning position are determined during the winding of the cop and stored as spinning data that is assigned to the cop. The spinning data assigned to the cop is taken into account when deciding whether to feed the cop after it has been set down to one of the winding positions. The assignment is based on an identification of a point in time of winding of the cop and an identification of the spinning position at which the cop was wound.

  • Patent number: 11319649
Abstract: A method to operate a ring spinning system containing a ring spinning machine having spinning positions and a winding machine having winding positions. Yarn is spun at the spinning position and wound to a cop. Values of a spinning parameter are determined at different times during the winding of the cop and stored as spinning data. The cop is transported from the spinning position to the winding position, where the yarn is rewound from the cop onto a bobbin. Values of a yarn parameter are determined at at least two different times during the rewinding, and stored as yarn data. The spinning data and the yarn data are assigned to each other such that they relate to the same yarn section. Based on the spinning data and yarn data assigned, an intervention is made on the ring spinning machine.

  • Patent number: 10402020
Abstract: This document describes techniques and devices for detecting twist input with an interactive cord. An interactive cord may be constructed with one or more conductive yarns wrapped around a cable in a first direction (e.g., clockwise), and one or more conductive yarns wrapped around the cable in a second direction that is opposite the first direction (e.g., counter-clockwise). A controller measures one or more capacitance values associated with the conductive yarns. In response to detecting a change in the one or more capacitance values, the controller determines that the change in the capacitance values corresponds to twist input caused by the user twisting the interactive cord. Then, the controller initiates one or more functions based on the twist input, such as by controlling audio to a headset by increasing or decreasing the volume, scrolling through menu items, and so forth.

A FEA model, representing a string having a source end at yarn feeder and a braiding end towards braiding/weaving operations, contains at least one truss element with a leading element directly connected to the source end at which pull-out force of the yarn feeder is predefined. Maximum and minimum lengths of a truss element are predefined for facilitating local remeshing. Simulated physical behaviors of the string are obtained by performing a time-marching simulation using the FEA model with the FEA application module having local remeshing capability. Simulated physical behaviors include axial forces in each truss element of the FEA model and the string's deformed geometry. Local remeshing is used for updating the computerized model by creating new leading element that satisfies consistent realistic condition, when local remeshing becomes necessary.

Abstract: A method for operating a spinning machine with plural spinning stations (1), each case having a take-off roller device (6, 10, 14) for drawing a yarn (9) from a spinning device (2) and a sensor mechanism (26) for checking piecings. When starting a piecing, the theoretical conveying length of the yarn is determined based on the surface speed of the rollers (10, 14), until the piecing reaches the sensor mechanism (26). The deviation of the theoretical conveying length from a desired yarn length, corresponding to the spacing between the spinning device (2) and the sensor mechanism (26), is detected. The deviation is compared with a preadjustable limit value of the permissible deviation. If the limit value is passed, this indicates intolerable wear of the pressure roller (14) and produces a signal.

Abstract: A method for piecing a yarn at a rotor spinning machine comprising plural spinning stations, wherein more than five piecers are successively produced in a measuring phase and coordinates of measurement values and associated measurement values from individual measurements of the piecers are evaluated for averaging and determining a fiber band function taking into account a drafting reduced for the measurement values, which reflects the fiber flow behaviour in the form of the respective fiber band quantity supplied to the rotor as a function of the transport path of the fiber band feed. The speed of the fiber band feed is controlled in a delayed manner from the run-up of the yarn draw-off, dependent on the rotor speed, by the fiber band function, such that the fiber shortfall quantity being produced from the fiber band function is compensated by dynamic feed addition with respect to height and length.

A joint compressed air regulator is connected upstream of the spinning positions, which regulator includes a pressure sensor and a regulating device. The compressed air regulator is set at a reference pressure, which corresponds to the unregulated static pressure prevailing when all spinning positions are in operation. In the case of a change in the static pressure, the compressed air regulator re-adjusts to the reference pressure.

Abstract: According to the method for characterizing fancy yarn, at least one characteristic of the fancy yarn is scanned along the longitudinal direction of the fancy yarn. Values of the scanning are evaluated and the results of the evaluation are outputted. The results of the evaluation are the fancy yarn parameters such as base yarn mass, base yarn diameter, slub distance, mass increase of a slub, slub diameter increase, slub diameter, slub length and/or slub total mass. On evaluation, a measurement curve is produced from the values of the scanning, and an area (A(x)) between the measurement curve and a previously determined base yarn mass is computed. A permanent increase in the course of the area (A(x)) is used as a criterion for the presence of a slub. Slubs may be differentiated from yarn imperfections in a reliable manner by way of the area (A(x)).

Abstract: A method and an apparatus for simulating a visual surface pattern of a fiber product and a method and an apparatus for producing a multicolored BCF yarn. In this case, at least one parameter of a strand-like fiber bundle is sensed and is digitized into data which is converted with the aid of evaluation electronics into a surface pattern. The visual appearance of a longitudinal portion of the fiber bundle may be detected as an image as a parameter of the stand-like fiber bundle.
