  • Patent number: 11160336
Abstract: A flexible jewelry cable includes a plurality of helical links. Each link has a body that extends helically about a central axis of the link. Each link includes a protrusion extending from an inner surface of the body at or near ends of the body. Each protrusion defines a through hole that is coaxially aligned with the body. The body defines a female recess on the inner surface of the body, each recess corresponding to one protrusion. The recesses are at or near the ends of the body. One recess of a first one of the links is configured to receive one protrusion of a second one of the links and align the hole of the received protrusion with the hole of one protrusion of the first link. The cable includes a string extending through the aligned holes of the protrusions of the links.

Abstract: A link assembly has a first link with an inner major surface and an opposite outer major surface, and a second link releasably engageable with the first link. The first link has two locking pins and two control pins, movable simultaneously with each other. When the first link engages the second link, the control pins move between locking and unlocked positions. When the control pins are in the locking positions, part of each locking pin is received within a respective hole of the second link to prevent disengagement of the first link from the second link. When the control pins are in the unlocked positions, the locking pins are clear of the holes to disengage the first link from the second link. Each control pin extends through a respective opening of the first link inner major surface. A spring biases the locking pins away from each other.

Abstract: An article of jewelry for wearing on the body may comprise a sintered polycrystalline diamond compact with substantially no metal catalyst. As many of the metal catalysts commonly used in the art are known to cause skin irritation, such a sintered compact with substantially no metal catalyst may be more biocompatible than previously known. A method for forming such a biocompatible sintered polycrystalline diamond compact comprises mixing diamond powder and metal catalyst powder into a mixture and sintering the mixture under elevated temperature and pressure conditions to form a sintered compact. The sintered compact may then be leached in an acid or other solution to substantially remove the metal catalyst from the sintered compact.

Abstract: A jewelry forming article utilizes free magnetic bodies and free deformable chains to form various jewelry objects, such as rings, bracelets, necklaces, and the like. The various jewelry objects are formed by magnetically engaging the surfaces of the free magnetic bodies to two or more regions along a length of the deformable free chains, forming one or more loop circumferences along the length of the chains between the engaging regions, where the loop circumference may be increased or decreased by changing the positions of the engaging regions relative to the surfaces of the magnetic bodies to enable a person to secure the article on his or her body in the form of the various jewelry objects.

Abstract: A method of forming a decorative chain includes joining a first and second material in a layered relationship, each material having a different appearance, and forming such joined material into a thread comprising a core of a third material. In one embodiment, the thread is introduced onto a support to form a spiral, and the spiral is separated into chain elements or links that are intertwined to form jewelry chains. Thereafter a portion of the first material along the outer surface of the chain is removed to reveal or expose a portion of the sub-layer of second material along the outer surface. In one embodiment, the thread core is maintained for solid link chain. In another embodiment, the thread core is removed to form hollow link chain. In either case, the outer surface of the chain is provided with contrasting appearances from the first and second materials.
