  • Patent number: 8776562
Abstract: A system allows the remote entry of pin data to manufacture a customized lock cylinder assembly. A remote computer communicates with a cylinder manufacturing system (or website) to upload user-selected pin data. The pin data may be stored for future reorders or additional orders. A pinning machine receives the pin data and automatically selects pins to manufacture a customized lock cylinder assembly. The lock cylinder assembly may be completed in seconds and shipped to the user thereby eliminating the need for manual lock customization. In addition, key code data may be provided to a key manufacturing system to automatically manufacture keys corresponding to the customized lock cylinder assembly.

  • Publication number: 20130121621
Abstract: A combination operated lock for use with a security container that has a zippered closure operated by a pull tab movable between open and closed positions, with the lock being operable, when locked, to retain the pull tab in closed position until the lock is unlocked by setting a combination. The lock preferably has a housing connected to a flexible fabric wall of the security container, and dials that are turned to set a combination for unlocking the lock. In some embodiments, the lock cannot be unlocked unless and until a one-use seal is broken and removed from the housing to which the seal was attachable only after the lock was locked.

  • Patent number: 8081426
Abstract: An apparatus and method for preventing access to calibration controls includes a primary cover including a connection device, an access opening and a first through hole. The primary cover is configured to exclude access to an underlying area. The access opening is located on the primary cover to permit access to the underlying area when securing the primary cover. A shield is configured to fit over the primary cover and prevent access to the access opening. The shield includes a latch portion configured to latch on a first end portion of the primary cover and a second through hole located at a second end portion and corresponding to the first through hole of the primary cover. A security mechanism is configured to be received in the first and second through holes such that the security mechanism shows signs of tampering when unauthorized access to the underlying area is attempted.

  • Patent number: 5907885
Abstract: A multi-functional apparatus for use in an automotive vehicle employing multiple tracks has a housing, a rotatable member located in the housing, an electromagnetic device and multiple tracks. The electromagnetic device may be an electric motor which operates in a unidirectional manner to oscillate a window wiper assembly. The electric motor and rotatable member then reverse rotational direction to move the wiper assembly to a park position, allowing the actuation of an intermittent motion mechanism.

  • Patent number: 4905490
Abstract: Apparatus for determining the opening combination of a safe lock includes a servo motor, a molded dial gripper that fits over the hub of the combination lock dial, and a high resolution rotary, encoder, preferably one with a resolution of 1000 PPR. The rotary encoder has a resolution of 0.09 degrees of rotation using quadrature, which permits the dial to be rotated accurately to within 1/10 of a digit. A programmable logic and control circuit can rotate the dial for automatic implementation of a manipulation technique. This permits the safe combination to be found in a rather short period of time, typically less than one hour.
