  • Patent number: 11774255
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for producing tradeable environmental attributes such as carbon offsets from the physical movements of users. The solution incorporates the use of a modal shift optimization application executed on a user's device. The application locates alternative transport options, and monitors the user's physical movements as the user travels to the destination using one of the alternative transport options. A carbon offset system receives the user's trip data and calculates project greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions for the user's journey. The carbon offset system also calculates baseline GHG emissions for a baseline transport option (e.g. single-occupancy private vehicle trip), based at least in part on the baseline emissions factor and a discount factor. The carbon offset system extracts the GHG emissions savings by determining a difference between the baseline and project emissions, which can be validated and verified for the production of carbon offsets.

Abstract: The accuracy of photovoltaic simulation modeling is predicated upon the selection of a type of solar resource data appropriate to the form of simulation desired. Photovoltaic power simulation requires irradiance data. Photovoltaic energy simulation requires normalized irradiation data. Normalized irradiation is not always available, such as in photovoltaic plant installations where only point measurements of irradiance are sporadically collected or even entirely absent. Normalized irradiation can be estimated through several methodologies, including assuming that normalized irradiation simply equals irradiance, directly estimating normalized irradiation, applying linear interpolation to irradiance, applying linear interpolation to clearness index values, and empirically deriving irradiance weights. The normalized irradiation can then be used to forecast photovoltaic fleet energy production.

Abstract: Provided is a display device for providing a media resource. The display device includes a communicator and a controller. The communicator collects background media resource database (DB) information. The controller extracts text information from each of media resources included in a background media resource DB, acquires one or more feature words based on the extracted text information, generates a feature word weight matrix of the background media resource DB which includes a respective weight of each acquired feature word, calculates a clustering similarity between each media resource included in the background media resource DB and a current media resource, which is being watched by a user, by using the feature word weight matrix, and provides a media resource recommendation list which includes one or more media resources based on the clustering similarity.

Abstract: Method and system for 3-D imaging of subterranean geologic structures based on seismic data interpretations involves converting multi-Z polylines into single-Z line segments. The single-Z line segments have slopes that are either positive or negative and do not change signs. As a result, no point along the line segment has more than one value in Z. The single-Z line segments may then be grouped or assembled into lattices that may then be used to form single-z horizons. Such a method and system arrangement provide a far more efficient and less processing intensive way to render 3-D images of the geologic structures compared to existing solutions.
