Telephony Via Television Distribution Network Patents (Class 725/106)
  • Patent number: 11804912
Abstract: One example includes a self-synchronizing TDD antenna system. The system includes an antenna system to communicate transmit and receive signals and an antenna control circuit coupled to a user communication system. The antenna control circuit includes a transmission line measurement circuit to determine signal loss through a transmission line cable coupled to the antenna system and an amplitude adjustment circuit to adjust amplitude of the transmit and/or receive signals based on the signal loss. A transmit detection circuit monitors signal power of the transmit signal, and a controller switches the amplitude adjustment circuit from a receive mode to a transmit mode in response to the monitored signal power exceeding a predetermined threshold. In the receive mode, the adjustment circuit applies a receive amplitude adjustment to the receive signal, and in the transmit mode the adjustment circuit applies a transmit amplitude adjustment to the transmit signal.

  • Patent number: 11271677
Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods and systems for determining conditions for non-terminated service provider network connections. The method includes receiving, at a service provider headend, upstream signals from premises. An uncorrectable metric and a correctable metric are determined from a portion of the upstream signals upon application of signal correction to the upstream signals, where the portion is related to an operating frequency range of a networking device and an operating frequency range of Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification (DOCSIS) devices. An alert is generated when the determined uncorrectable metric meets an uncorrectable threshold and the determined correctable metric is less than a correctable threshold for a persistent period of time, where the non-termination alert indicates a non-terminated pathway to a service provider central office from the premises when service is provided to the premises from a different service provider central office.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for allowing a mobile device user to forward one or more messages which are received on the user's mobile device, to a television or a set top box are described. The user is able to view the forwarded messages on the television and can also reply to such received messages from the television. The methods and apparatus may be implemented using a message forwarding application installed on a user's cell phone and a server responsible for forwarding messages and replies between the user's Internet capable TV or set top box and mobile telephone. To the party sending a message, replies appear to have originated from the user's cell phone making the use of the service transparent to individuals other than the user to which the message is sent. Message received and sent logs are maintained in the user's phone so the message record is complete.

  • Patent number: 9369747
Abstract: A system of grouping broadcasting signals based on a multimedia DNA of corresponding broadcast, which groups users viewing the same broadcast through the multimedia DNA of each broadcasting signal output from a TV in real time. A DNA information receiver receives DNA information on broadcasting signals, which are broadcasted through each TV. A DNA information grouping unit calculates similarity of the DNA information received through the DNA information receiver, and when the calculated similarity satisfies a predetermined similar condition, determines the similar DNA information as the DNA information of the same broadcasting signal to group the DNA information into the same group. A group information transmitter transmits group related information of each group grouped by the DNA information grouping unit to each TV.
