Clutchable Gears Patents (Class 74/322)
  • Patent number: 10883553
Abstract: Provided is a one-way clutch in which a rotating direction of a first rotating member with respect to a second rotating member is switched. The first rotating member includes a recessed portion that receives a planetary gear and, in an outer circumferential portion thereof, an engaging portion that engages with the planetary gear, whereby relative rotation of the planetary gear and the first and second rotating members is switched to rotatable and unrotatable. When the first rotating member is relatively rotating with respect to the second rotating member, the planetary gear meshes with an internal gear of the second rotating member, and the position of the planetary gear is thereby restricted.

  • Patent number: 6931954
Abstract: A power transmission device includes a pair of gear assemblies and an idle. Each of the gear assemblies includes a first gear having continuous external teeth on a peripheral wall and a second gear having continuous external teeth on a peripheral wall. The first gear and second gear are arranged to form a one-way clutch. When the first gear rotates in one direction relative to the second gear, the first gear is not connected to the second gear. When the first gear rotates in the other direction relative to the second gear, the first gear is connected to the second gear. The external teeth of the first gears in the gear assemblies engage each other, and the external teeth of the second gears in the gear assemblies engage the idle gear. One direction output at the second gear is obtained regardless of an input direction at the first gear.

  • Patent number: 5079965
Abstract: The invention concerns a gearbox (9). On the gearbox is front-mounted a hydrodynamic torque converter (3). The gearbox (9) has hydraulically actuatable gear clutches (17, 18, 23 and 28) which are designed structurally alike. The gears (14, 15, 16, 19, 20, 21, 22, 24, 26 and 27) are in constant engagement with each other. In order to reduce the development of noise, the gears are high and helically toothed. The gearbox is especially suited for use in vehicles in which special importance is attached to comfortable riding. Such vehicles are, for instance, passenger cars and mobile homes.

Abstract: A children's mini-car includes a three-gear set disposed on a rear axle. The three-gear set, which is driven by the ropes disposed on both sides of the rear axle, is arranged to cooperate with accelerator pedals located on both sides of a front transverse rod to alternatively drive the rear wheels to move the mini-car forward. In addition, a gear shifting lever is used to control the gear set, so as to reverse the direction of movement of the mini-car with the aid of a rear view mirror. Furthermore, a detachable car seat can be removed from the mini-car and a steering wheel can be replaced by a movable pedal, such that the instant mini-car may act as a safe children's sliding car by utilizing an auxiliary brake system located below the steering wheel.

  • Patent number: 4653338
Abstract: The preferred embodiment can be incorporated into a powered instrument which rotates a tool. The preferred embodiment permits changing the direction of rotation of the tool without using the hand that does not grip the instrument housing to operate the tool, and without altering the grip on the instrument. The preferred embodiment includes an actuator which moves between two positions to selectively couple two rotating members to an output shaft. The output shaft is rotated in one direction when one rotating member is coupled to the shaft and is rotated in the remaining direction when the remaining rotating member is coupled to the shaft. Movement of the actuator between its two operative positions can be achieved by pushing on the instrument housing to push the tool against the workpiece, or by pulling the instrument housing away from the chuck if the tool is embedded within the workpiece.
