Abstract: A tilt control mechanism for an office chair includes a spring assembly therein which controls the tilt tension on the back assembly. The tilt control mechanism includes a control plate mounted to the control shaft on which the uprights are mounted, wherein the control plate rotates in combination with the uprights. This control plate is located within the control body and cooperates with a front stop assembly and a back stop assembly to vary the limits of forward and rearward tilting of the seat and back assemblies. Also, the tilt control mechanism includes a pneumatic actuator assembly having fixed and rotatable cam blocks. The rotatable cam block rotates relative to the fixed block such that the rotatable cam block is driven downwardly to depress the control valve of the pneumatic cylinder and thereby vary the height of the seat assembly.

Abstract: This apparatus comprises a thumb lever 10 which is supported rotatably around an axis of a shaft portion 11, a return spring 13 to urge the thumb lever 10 towards an initial position, and a position sensor 20 which detects a rotating angle of the thumb lever 10 around the axis of the shaft portion 11, and outputs electronic signals as information of the accelerator position while the position sensor 20 detects the rotating angle of the thumb lever 10. In this manner, a drive-by-wire system is adopted to an accelerator operating portion of motorcycles etc. without losing the steering operativity.

  • Patent number: 6655229
Abstract: It is designed that an oil pressure signal can be output by operating an operation lever in a twisting direction; a structure can be made simple and its assembly and adjustment are easy; an operation force can be reduced; and a layout is not restricted. It is also designed that when the operation lever is left free after it is twisted, it returns smoothly to the original neutral position. When the operation lever is twisted about the lever axis, the shaft supported by bearings is twisted. The twist of the shaft is converted into the movement in a direction to move the pistons by first and second levers, and the pistons are moved. When the pistons are moved, the oil pressure signal is output from the discharge ports. A disk plate is separated into a first disk plate to which the root of the operation lever is attached and a second disk plate which is tiltably supported by a tilting fulcrum.

Abstract: Apparatus for a lever (6) for controlling a parking brake including brake units and an electrically driven tightening means for applying or releasing a braking force on the said brake units. Characteristic of the invention is that a means is arranged to detect the position of the lever and produce control signals to a first electric motor (12) for generating a brake force corresponding to the position of the lever. The lever can be adjusted manually. Further there is a second electric motor (49) intended to automatically control the lever (6) depending on incoming control signals. In the fully applied position the lever (6) is locked against manual adjustment.

Abstract: A joystick for manually operating a pair of hydraulic valve members has a bracket to which a handle is attached. A pivot shaft rotationally extends between a pair of legs of the bracket and has a transverse aperture through which a pivot pin attaches the pivot shaft to a base of the joystick. This attachment structure allows the bracket to pivot with respect to the base about two orthogonal axes. A first link for coupling to one hydraulic valve member is pivotally attached to the pivot shaft, while a second link for coupling to another hydraulic valve member is attached by a ball joint to the bracket.

Abstract: A shift lever device having a shift lever which allows selection of an arbitrary shift range by shift operation and includes a support which rotatably supports the shift lever and includes breakable portions which break when an impact force above a preselected magnitude is applied to the shift lever. Accordingly, when an axial impact force indicative of a sudden deceleration is applied to the shift lever, the support is broken. The breakage of the support allows safer absorption of the impact force applied to the shift lever. The breakable portions may take the form of a frangible pin or bracket that pivotally supports the shift lever.

  • Patent number: 6575050
Abstract: A control device for a backhoe that moves four separate reversible hydraulic valves in any combination or all at the same time with only one human hand needed to manipulate said controls. These valves are controlled through an organized series of arms, levers, and push rods. Lever one 1 can pivot forward or backward, move up or down, push forward or pull backward, and move to the left or right. Lever two 2 pivots up or down at lever four 4, therefore lever one 1 moves with lever two 2 as a unit. Lever four 4 spins around lever three 3 with lever two 2 and lever one 1 as a unit. Lever three 3 pivots forward and backward taking lever four 4, lever two 2, and lever one 1 with it as a unit. Lever one 1 pivots forward or backward to actuate valve 20 through a number of pins, rods, and arms. As lever one 1 is moved up or down, it pivots lever two 2 causing valve 22 to be actuated, leaving valve 20 uninterrupted.

  • Patent number: 6571902
Abstract: A method of automatically setting an auxiliary hydraulic valve's flow rate and returning to that flow rate automatically is disclosed. The work vehicle such as a backhoe has two hand controls, one of which has a button, and the other has a thumb wheel. To set the hydraulic flow rate, one both presses the button one hand control and moves the thumb wheel on the other hand control until the proper flow rate is reached. At this point, both button and thumb wheel are released. This causes the flow rate to be saved in RAM or ROM memory. The flow rate can be varied at any time by rolling the thumb wheel up or down. One can return to the previously save flow rate by pressing the button. Both controls are preferably spring loaded.

Abstract: A control handle support and valve linkage assembly for use in a lift truck or like vehicle is provided. The assembly includes a first stationary bracket and a second bracket that pivots relative to the first bracket. At least one, and preferably an array of control handles are coupled to the second bracket. A seat deck on the lift truck includes an actuator for engaging a member projecting from the second bracket. When the seat deck is in the closed position, the second bracket is kept in a first, retracted position, and hence, the control handle(s) are kept close to and within the comfortable reach of an operator seated in the adjacent seat. Then, when the seat deck is opened, such as when the operator desires to access a battery compartment or the like, the second bracket, and hence, the control handle(s) automatically and simultaneously pivot or rotate relative to the first stationary bracket. This moves the control handles out of the path of travel of the seat deck to avoid creating any interference.
