Patent number: 9175769Abstract: A speed change apparatus for a vehicle includes a gear transmission, a shift lever device arranged in a zone where a driver on a driver's seat can operate the shift lever device, and an operation force transmission mechanism. The shift lever device is provided with a detent mechanism for positioning and holding the shift lever at each shift position, and an operation force transmission mechanism is constituted by a push pull cable.Type: GrantFiled: April 25, 2014Date of Patent: November 3, 2015Assignee: Kawasaki Jukogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Seiji Itoo, Ayumi Hamada, Taisuke Morita, Jun Takagi

Patent number: 5491635Abstract: A starting operation for a vehicle is carried out in two phases, specifically in a first phase, the input rotational speed is led to a desired rotational speed, and in a following second phase, a rotational speed difference signal formed from the difference between the input rotational speed and the output rotational speed is led to the zero value according to a predetermined desired course. The first phase begins when the starting device is not completely closed and the position of the power control element is below a limit value. The desired rotational speed is first determined as a function of the position of the power control element, the time variation of the position, and a signal describing the driver's driving style. With the determined desired rotational speed, a desired curve of a control signal for an actuator of the starting device is then determined in such a manner that, in the case of the actual position of the power control element, this desired rotational speed is definitely reached.Type: GrantFiled: August 10, 1994Date of Patent: February 13, 1996Assignee: Dr. Ing. h.c.F. Patent number: 5487316Abstract: A control includes a shaft rotatable between a plurality of positions. The base of a spring is fixed relative to the shaft and arms extend from the base parallel to the shaft. Each arm includes a resilient finger and a nose projects from each finger toward the shaft. The noses are 180 angular degrees apart and at different positions longitudinally of the shaft. A cam rotates with the shaft and the noses are biased against the outer surface of the cam. A plurality of recesses are angularly spaced apart around the outer surface of the cam in pairs which are spaced 180 angular degrees apart. One of each pair of recesses is longitudinally aligned with one nose and the other of that pair is longitudinally aligned with the other nose. The noses and recesses provide a detent when the recesses of a pair are angularly aligned with the noses with which they are longitudinally aligned and do not form a detent when the shaft is substantially 180 angular degrees removed therefrom.Type: GrantFiled: May 11, 1995Date of Patent: January 30, 1996Assignee: General Electric CompanyInventors: Richard E. Patent number: 5467663Abstract: Cable assemblies are useful for controlling the engine governor of a vehicle. On some vehicles the operator must control the governor from two different locations or operating positions of the operator. The subject arrangement includes a cable assembly having a first end portion connected to a vehicle governor, a second end portion and an intermediate portion. A lever is connected to the second end portion to control the vehicle governor. A pedal is connected to the intermediate portion to also control the vehicle governor. This arrangement of components provides a single cable assembly which can be actuated from two locations for controlling the vehicle governor.Type: GrantFiled: July 19, 1993Date of Patent: November 21, 1995Assignee: Caterpillar Inc.Inventor: Jon D. Patent number: 4658666Abstract: An improved rocking rod assembly for a new type of horizontal contact video game including a horizontal contact type circuit element, a rocking rod having a base end thereof provided with guide rails, a fixed ring having a central hole, guide grooves in the central configured to match the guide rail, and a resilient elastic mid-ring. In another embodiment, the present rocking rod assembly includes a double key.Type: GrantFiled: November 30, 1983Date of Patent: April 21, 1987Inventor: Lai-Jin Liu

Patent number: 4398433Abstract: This invention relates to a shift lever assembly for changing the speed of a power take-off shaft of a tractor. The assembly comprises a movable rod positioned between two different speed positions having a neutral position therebetween. The rod has abutment means secured to it which cooperates with knotched plates so that the rod can be moved in a linear direction between the speed positions only when it is rotated while in the neutral position.Type: GrantFiled: July 13, 1981Date of Patent: August 16, 1983Assignee: Deere & CompanyInventor: Eugen Sonns

Patent number: 4227428Abstract: A throttle synchronizer for quickly and accurately setting and resetting each of the separate throttle valve control levers of plural internal combustion engines at a selected engine operating speed, with accurate and automatic synchronization of the engines at the selected lever setting. Adjustable throttle lever stops limit advance movement of the levers to the selected lever setting. The throttle lever stops are mounted on a transverse yoke, which is adjustable slidably relative to the paths of movement of the levers, so as to selectively locate the stops at any lever setting desired. The yoke is mounted slidably on a support located adjacent the levers, and a locking screw is utilized to secure the yoke in a selected position on the support. The throttle synchronizer is particularly useful on twin engine power boats having twin propellers, each driven by its own internal combustion engine.Type: GrantFiled: January 17, 1979Date of Patent: October 14, 1980Assignee: Mordo CompanyInventors: Morton F.
