Abstract: An earth boring drill bit that includes a cutting cone with a cutting disk. Compacts are inserted within the disk having a chisel shaped end set flush with the cutting disk periphery. The compact crests and cutting disk periphery form a generally seamless cutting surface. The cutting cone can further include cutting teeth thereon also having flush mounted compacts. The compacts can be made from a material such as cemented carbide, hardfacing, tungsten, tungsten alloys, tungsten carbide and the cutter made from steel.

Abstract: A method for synthesizing a register transfer level (RTL) based design employs a bottom-up approach to generate a final top-level design. The top-level design is divided into a plurality of sub-modules. Each of the sub-modules is then independently synthesized using an RTL based design approach and independently adapted to conform to timing requirements produced for each of the sub-modules using time budgets that are based on the top-level timing requirements. Once the sub-modules are synthesized and pass individual timing requirements specific for those sub-modules, the sub-modules are integrated to form a top-level design. The top-level design may then be verified for timing requirements and other formal requirements.

Abstract: Constant pins are determined in a combinational circuit by associating an input of a combinational circuit with a first variable and a second variable, with the second variable being the complement of the first variable. For a first logical cell interconnected to such input, a first mathematical representation and a second mathematical representation are computed. The first mathematical representation is a function of the operation of the first logical cell and a function of the first variable, and the second mathematical representation is a function of the operation of the first logical cell and a function of the second variable. A determination is then made as to whether one of the first and second mathematical representations is equal to a constant.

Abstract: A helical surface-shaped machine part or component having a radially extended flank profile or section. At least two components wound in the same direction are joined together by means of their contacting coils in such a manner that their cross-sections augment one another to form the complete flank profile or section.
