Stored Energy Means For Moving Work Or Tool, Loaded By Tool Or Work Patents (Class 83/223)
  • Patent number: 8826546
Abstract: A cutting assembly for a portable hand-held power driven working tool may include a first elongate cutting blade and a second elongate cutting blade. The cutting blades are arranged to be connected to a gear, causing the cutting blades to move in a reciprocal manner along a longitudinal axis of the cutting blades. The cutting blades are arranged to be mounted so that an interior surface of the first cutting blade faces towards and abuts on an interior surface of the second cutting blade. At least one of the cutting blades has a recess extending in a longitudinal portion of the interior surface of the cutting blades, such that a gap appears between the cutting blades when they are mounted in a face-to-face relationship. The gap prevents the flow of the grease from the gearbox beyond the position of the gap on the cutting assembly.

Abstract: In a preferred embodiment, a sealing tape dispenser, includes a retracting tape guide which is mechanically linked to an access cover so as to be automatically retracted upon cover opening to allow larger tape rolls to be loaded and to enhance unobstructed access to the machine. In a second preferred embodiment, a sealing tape dispenser, includes a cutting blade lift and interlock mechanism as to assist in clearing tape jams by mechanically lifting the cutting blade to a raised position whereby unobstructed access is gained to the tape path and an interlock is disabled so as to prevent further tape dispenser operations while the cutting blade is in a raised position.

  • Patent number: 4827820
Abstract: A paper web cut-off device, comprising a frame and a blade member mounted on the frame. The blade member is disposed to execute cutting of the paper web, with an actuator being provided for producing, on the blade member, the force required for cutting the paper web. The actuator for producing the required force for cutting of the paper web, is a spring member in which cutting energy is stored. At least one cocking or loading member is provided, which is disposed to cock or load the spring member.

  • Patent number: 4787193
Abstract: A wrapping mechanism for enveloping the surface of a large round bale with a wrapper is mounted to the discharge gate of a baler having a bale-forming chamber formed in part by the gate and side-by-side supported belts carried by the gate. A pair of feed rolls are positioned for directing wrap material into a pinch point defined by a lower run of the bale chamber belts and an upper surface of a plate mounted to the underside of the gate for guiding the wrap material to an inlet at the bottom of the bale-forming chamber. A device for cutting off a desired length of wrap material fed through the feed rolls includes a spring loaded knife which is released from and reset to a cocked position by the action of a hydraulic cylinder which also acts to engage and disengage drive means coupled to the feed rolls in appropriate sequence to the operation of the knife.

  • Patent number: 4694717
Abstract: A machine for cutting coarse sod into relatively small plugs for ready packaging and subsequent transplanting, comprising an endless conveyor belt upon which comparatively large rectangular sections of sod can be deposited, so that the sections of sod can be moved intermittently toward a sod cutting device. The sod cutting device preferably is of the single pass cutter type, utilizing a plurality of elongate, closely grouped blades designed to periodically move in unison downwardly into contact with sod to be cut, with such downward cutting movements being immediately followed by an upward movement, thus to permit an advance of the section of sod without interference. I coordinate the movements of the sod cutting device with the belt advance, such that forward movement of a section of sod is in each instance prevented until the cutting blades are clear of the section of sod being cut.

  • Patent number: 4131044
Abstract: A cut-off mechanism is provided in a dispenser for dispensing a web of paper towel from a supply roll thereof, the cut-off mechanism including a flat cam member fixedly secured to the dispenser feed roller for rotation therewith and a drive member having a generally cylindrical portion cooperating with the cam member to form a chamber for a spiral coiled spring secured between the drive member and the dispenser feed roller so that rotation of the latter with respect to the former during dispensing of the web winds the spring. The drive member is connected by linkage to a movable cutting blade and is also provided with a stop surface which is engageable with a latch member normally to hold the movable blade motionless during winding of the spring.
