Work-feed Mechanism In Nonfeed Motion Effects Or Initiates Tool Actuation Patents (Class 83/231)
  • Patent number: 8216497
Abstract: Various methods are provided for forming tissue holding devices having predetermined shapes suitable for use in surgical applications, and devices formed in accordance with such methods are also provided. These methods include press forming methods, and press forming methods in combination with profile punching. Tissue holding devices formed in accordance with such methods include various configurations for a core and a plurality of tissue holding elements extending outwardly from the core.

  • Patent number: 5941150
Abstract: An apparatus for use with a length of articulating paper. The apparatus includes a container having an interior configured to contain the length of articulating paper; a housing member attached to the container; the housing member having an outlet; conveyor structure for conveying the distal end of the length of articulating paper from the interior of the container to the outlet of the housing member; cutter structure for cutting off a piece of articulating paper from the distal end of the length of articulating paper when the conveyor structure conveys the distal end of the articulating paper to the outlet of the housing member; and holder structure for securely holding the piece of articulating paper after the conveyor structure conveys the distal end of the articulating paper to the outlet of the housing member and after the cutter structure cuts off the piece of the articulating paper from distal end of the length of articulating paper.

  • Patent number: 4700530
Abstract: A method and a device for placing edge protecting means (7) at objects in connection with band strapping. The inventive method is distinguished in that blanks for edge protecting means (7) are fed as a continuous band (7a) which when advanced is preliminary bent around a longitudinal line, that the fed-out portion of the band (7a) is cut to form an edge protecting means (7) in correct position, and that the edge protecting means (7) is finally bent in connection with cutting.

  • Patent number: 4664005
Abstract: A device for automatically dispensing labels from a tape comprises a drive shaft and means for driving the tape intermittently from the drive shaft. These drive means comprise a tape feed shaft and a tape feed gearwheel coupled to this shaft. The device also comprises means for actuating the cutter from the drive shaft when the tape is stopped, in the form of a cutter actuator shaft and a cutter actuator gearwheel coupled to this shaft. A cylindrical drive member is coupled to the drive shaft and at least one toothed sector on the cylindrical drive member meshes with the tape feed and cutter actuator gearwheels in such a way that these gearwheels are driven one after the other.

  • Patent number: 4375759
Abstract: A pair of continuously driven pull rolls of stock puller supported on a table having a longitudinal bed engage a web of the stock material to continuously unreel the stock material from a coil. The pull rolls are rotated by a drive shaft that is coupled to an input shaft of a feed roll unit. The input shaft is continuously rotated by a pulley-belt drive connection from a common power shaft. Continuous rotation of the input shaft is converted to intermittent rotation of a feed roll that intermittently advances the stock material to a stock material forming device, such as a material stamping or punching unit followed by a material cutting unit. The stamping and cutting units also include input shafts that are drivingly connected by pulleys and continuous belts to the common power shaft. The common power shaft is continuously rotated by a pulley-belt drive connection from an output shaft of a variable speed DC motor supported by the table.

  • Patent number: 4248112
Abstract: A label machine for forming individual labels from an endless tape strip. The machine includes a novel label removal device which uses compressed air to insure removal of each label to a collection station after it is cut from the endless strip, thereby preventing hang-up of labels at the machine's cutter assembly. The machine also includes a novel tape feed mechanism that provides accurate label length control, thereby preventing waste of tape. These mechanisms are preferably used in combination with a printer head, the novel tape feed and label removal mechanisms cooperating to prevent printing errors between leading and trailing labels cut from the endless tape strip.
