Abstract: A track saw system including a track having a pair of longitudinally-elongated rails extending along its top surface. Each rail has an angled sidewall extending from the top of the track at an angle of 45 degrees. The system further includes a base plate adapter having a pair of grooves formed in its bottom surface that are similar in size, shape, and relative position to the rails. The distance between the angled walls of the grooves is shorter than the distance between the angled walls of the rails. The rails of the track thus fit within the grooves of the base plate adapter with the angled sidewalls of the rails flatly engaging the angled sidewalls of the grooves. A firm, non-binding fit is thereby maintained between the track and the base plate adapter regardless of any expansion or contraction of the track that might occur due to variations in temperature.

Abstract: The invention relates to a blade holder for a device for dividing a material web (10) in longitudinal direction, said blade holder comprising a basic body (2) that can be secured on a cutter bar (M) of the device. The blade holder further comprises a blade carrier (3; 23), which can be moved relative to the basic body (2) and on which a circular blade (8; 22) is positioned rotating and which is connected to an adjustment drive (4; 24) for moving the circular blade (8; 22) from the idle position to an operating position where it is pushed against an associated rotating counter blade (9; 28) of the device. In addition, the blade holder is provided with an impact absorber (11) that is effective between the adjustment drive (4; 24) and the circular blade (8; 22) and has a high compliance to a force effective in press-on direction and a low compliance to a force effective counter to the press-on direction.

Abstract: A bank cutter positioning device installed in a cutter seat at a side having a dovetail groove comprises a locking block, an elastic element, a roller and a handle. The locking block having an end pivotally installed above the dovetail groove. The elastic element installed between a resisting surface of the seat and a locking block. The roller pivotally at another end of the locking block. Therefore, by moving the handle, the roller of the locking block will move circularly on the sliding surface and curved surface at the lower side of the handle so as to control the releasing and locking operation of the locking block. The roller causes the driving distance between the locking block and the handle to reduce to suit a dovetail seat with a contact surface having a small tilt angle, and has the effects of rapid positioning and detaching.

Abstract: A cutting apparatus is disclosed which is particularly suited for use in association with an apparatus for effecting lengthwise slitting of sheet stock, such as sheet metal. In the illustrated embodiment, the cutting apparatus includes first and second cooperating, counter-rotating pairs of knife assemblies, with each of the knife assemblies including at least one knife blade positioned for cutting cooperation with a respective knife blade of the other assembly. In order to facilitate adjustment of the gap or clearance between each cooperating pair of knife blades, the present apparatus includes an adjustment mechanism, whereby one of the knife assemblies can be shifted axially of the other assembly, thereby adjusting the clearance between the knife blades of the assemblies. Efficient adjustment of the cutting apparatus is thus provided, whereby the apparatus can efficiently cut opposite edge, scrap portions of sheet material as the sheet stock is slit by the slitter apparatus.

Abstract: In a perforating apparatus which has a holder to which a perforating blade can be fastened, the perforation is produced via the movement of a piston by the piston pressing against an air cushion, which in turn transmits this pressure to a perforating piston which presses the perforating blade downward. A positioning device which directly varies the position of the piston unit relative to the housing surface is provided for the zero setting of the piston.

Abstract: The unit makes it possible to form and cut a sheet (14) made of flexible material, such as paper, cardboard or a plastic medium. It comprises several cutting boxes (2) each having a circular knife (5) and at least one guillotine (27). The cutting boxes (2) are fixed adjustably to a guide bar (3) extending transversely to the direction of movement of the sheet (14), and the circular knives (5) are removably fixed to the said cutting boxes. The forward movement of the sheet (14) and the movement of the guillotine or guillotines can be controlled numerically.

  • Patent number: 6253652
Abstract: In a web slitter of the type used for cutting continuous webs of material, such as paper, a top slitter assembly features a hub cylinder attached to its frame. The hub cylinder supports a freely rotating hub to which the top blade of the web slitter is mounted. The hub cylinder may be raised and lowered with respect to the slitter frame so that the top blade may be lowered to, and raised from, its cutting position. A toggle support is clamped to the hub cylinder while a pin holder is attached to the slitter frame. A toggle is attached to the toggle support in a pivoting fashion. Housed within the pin holder is a sliding pin and a compression spring. The compression spring resists the movement of the pin towards the hub of the web slitter. The pin may be extended so that it engages a notch in the hub. When the hub cylinder is raised, the toggle may be pivoted so that it abuts the end of the engaged pin against the action of the compression spring. As a result, the pin is maintained in engagement with the hub.
