One Tool Support Acts As Driver For Other Patents (Class 83/514)
  • Patent number: 7444910
Abstract: An apparatus for trimming the width of blinds of the type having a headrail, and a bottom rail and blind slats, and having a support body with a headrail opening, and a bottom rail opening, and a blind slat opening the blind components being insertable into their openings from one side of the support body, a die located adjacent to the support body, a headrail cutting recess in the die, guides on the support body for the die, enabling the die to move relative to the headrail opening between two positions and a bottom rail and blind slat cutter operable to cut the bottom rail and the blind slats. A modified apparatus can be used to trim the width of a vertical blind having a headrail and control rods. Also disclosed is a method of trimming the width of blind, having a head rail, a bottom rail and blind slats.

  • Patent number: 5088365
Abstract: A cut-off die set of the double cut type, in which sections of tubing are successively severed from a length of tubing, utilizing a notching cut followed by a severing cut. A rack and pinion assembly is used to transform the vertical reciprocating motion of the upper and lower platen into the horizintal reciprocating motion used for the notching stroke. The rack and pinion assembly comprises a rack mounted to the upper platen and a gear sector mounted to the lower platen, the gear sector includes a drive roller which engages a cam track on the cross slide. As the upper platen and lower platen are vertically reciprocated, the rack member causes the gear sector to rotate, sliding the drive roller through an arcuate path. Movement of the drive roller through the arcuate path causes the cross slide to move in a reciprocating manner in relation to the reciprocating motion of the upper and lower platens.

  • Patent number: 4475426
Abstract: The apparatus for supplying chewing gum along a path to the driven feeder of a packaging machine includes a magazine, a scoring device, a pushing device for advancing chewing gum slabs from the magazine to the scoring device and a transfer device for advancing the scored gum slabs from the scoring device to the driven feeder. The pushing device and feeder are driven in relation to one another; however the scoring device and transfer device are driven at a constant speed which is independent of the operating rate of the pushing device and feeder. As a result, the chewing gum slabs are delivered to the feeder at the same speed under all operating conditions and will not become caught, deformed or piled-up in the apparatus due to changes in the operating rate of the feeder.

  • Patent number: 4328067
Abstract: Shaped and self-supporting stratiform laminates, such as inner door panels for automobiles, are produced from a thermoplastic substrate and a flexible sheet material in a one-stroke molding, laminating, and cutting operation; laminated products obtained have protruding free edge portions of the flexible coating sheet so that cut edge portions of substrate can be covered subsequently with the protruding free portions.Apparatus for producing such laminates is a molding press having two molding plates, each of which includes one component of a pair of cutting means; the other two components of the pair of cutting means are provided by a generally annular element that is movable relative to the molding plates; the annular element includes a surface for cooperation with a peripheral knife around the surface of the upper molding plate to form one cutting means, and a cutting edge for cooperation with a shearing edge of the lower molding plate to form the second cutting means.
