  • Patent number: 4771687
Abstract: Apparatus and method for belt transfer printing of nonflat surfaces of porous articles wherein the printing of the article by a first region of the belt is carried out substantially simultaneously with the inking of a second region of the belt. In a preferred embodiment, the apparatus comprises an endless belt with a screen printing device disposed along a first run of the belt and a vacuum workpiece support box disposed along a second run of the belt with an opposed sealing frame. A workpiece is loaded in the vacuum box, a vacuum is created through the workpiece to draw a pattern carrying region into printing contact with the workpiece surface while another pattern is being inked onto a second region of the belt. The workpiece is replaced with a second workpiece and the second region of the belt is advanced into registration with the second workpiece.

  • Patent number: 4741783
Abstract: Apparatus and method for rotary buffing or wiping of workpieces having uneven surfaces in which the workpiece generally linearly advances relative to one or more buffing rolls which are spinning about spin axes disposed in a plane generally parallel to the workpiece surface and simultaneously rotating about an axis generally perpendicuar to the workpiece surface. In a preferred embodiment, the buffing rolls are supported in a rotating carriage with their spin axes in coparallel relationship.

  • Patent number: 4724650
Abstract: An intersection spacer is disclosed for use in a subceiling structure of a grid of open-ended runner beams and intersecting open-ended cross beams, the intersection spacer being generally square in horizontal cross section with inverted vertical corner edges forming four outwardly directed protrusions adapted to engage within the beam ends. A top plate on the spacer bears the weight of the ceiling. A bottom cap on the spacer carries a decorative panel. The spacer may be made of two identical mating halves. A method of assembling a subceiling with such intersection spacers is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 4702056
Abstract: A suspended grid subceiling and panel units therefor having the appearance of a continuous expanse of decorative light-transmitting block masonry. In a preferred embodiment, the panels units are assemblies of an opaque subgrid of rails and cross rails and translucent subpanels simulating the mortar lines and faces of glass block. The undersides of the grid main runners and cross runners are similar in shape to the subgrid rails and cross rails and have a surface finish matching the color and texture of the subgrid undersides.

  • Patent number: 4606481
Abstract: A storage container closure for a wide-mouthed spouted container having a cover which may be inverted to provide an intermediate spouted dispensing receptacle. The closure is particularly suited for neatly measuring and pouring a desired amount of loose material such as tea leaves or coffee grounds from the container into the cover and thereafter from the cover. The spout of the cover is complementary in shape to the spout of the container so that the cover may slip over the top of the container and close both the mouth and the spout of the container. Volume indicating means may be provided in the cover. A secondary three-part press type seal may be disposed within the container.

  • Patent number: 4604026
Abstract: A telescoping parts manipulator comprising a telescoping tubular arm which is extended and retracted by a cable from a cable drum, and a workpiece engaging assembly which pivots on a wrist swivel axis carried at the end of the telescoping arm which engages molded articles in a molding machine. The telescoping arm is mounted to a slide box which moves forward and backward to allow engagement with a molded article, clearance of the tie bars in the mold, and movement towards a work station such as a conveyor belt. The cable is a hollow nylon tube which provides vacuum from a vacuum source through the telescoping arm to suction cups at the end of the arm which engage the molded articles.

  • Patent number: 4595809
Abstract: The present invention is comprised of a dielectric case having defined in it a cylindrical cavity with a larger diameter counterbore in its upper portion. Slots extending across the case and through the cavity have the same depth as the cavity and carry wire conductors whose diameter is less than the difference between the depth of the cavity and the depth of the counterbore. Located medially in the bottom of the cavity is a raised bridge which has a height approximately equal to the amount the diameter of the wire conductors is less than the difference between the depth of the cavity and the depth of the counterbore. Thus the top surfaces of the wires lie below the counterbore proximate the periphery of the cavity and lie approximately co-planar with the lip of the counterbore at the center of the cavity. An electrically conductive deformable dome having a diameter approximately equal to the diameter of the counterbore is secured in the cavity by a piece of transparent tape adhered to the top of the case.
