    Abstract: A material is provided for capturing a chemical substance comprising fibers which carry metal alkoxide particles on the surfaces thereof. The metal alkoxide particles are made from an oligosilica, an oligozirconia, an oligotitiania, or the like. The fibers may include inorganic fibers, regenerated fibers and/or synthetic fibers. The material for capturing a chemical substance is produced by a method comprising steps of subjecting the fibers to a surface treatment for facilitating adhesion of the metal alkoxide particles to the surfaces of the fibers, forming the metal alkoxide particles on the surfaces of the fibers, and fixing the metal alkoxide particles to the surfaces of the fibers. A chemical substance-capturing tube, capable of capturing a trace of a chemical substance in a liquid or a gas, can be produced by placing the fibers, i.e., the material for capturing a chemical substance, in a hollow tube.

The invention utilizes domain filter of regular square type and generates filter coefficient based on area occupancy ratio of filter window according to the area of corresponding pixel extending the applied filter window and then obtains scaled image through the method of computing weighted average value, which is determined through multiplication of the generated filter coefficient and value of each pixel. By using image scaling method of the invention, there is an advantage of much lower cost in hardware implementation of an image scaler in comparison with conventional image scaling methods.

    Abstract: A CNC machine for producing spiral-toothed bevel gears is described, which has a first carriage supporting a tool spindle and is displaceable in height, and whose guide is disposed on a lateral surface of a machine housing, which is horizontally guided in a straight coordinate axis on a machine base. The tool spindle axis is parallel with the lateral surface and with the coordinate axis. Furthermore, the machine has a workpiece spindle support having a second carriage and a pivoting device with a vertical axis and is also horizontally guided on the machine base. The parallel arrangement of the tool spindle axis results in a new machine concept with a compact structure and optimal chip flow. Therefore the machine is particularly suited for heavy-duty dry milling. Since the tool spindle is not located above the area of the machine having a horizontal guide, it is possible to arrange a chip collector underneath the tool spindle, which can be reached by the chips essentially under the force of gravity.
