Abstract: A method for deriving and sorting information from an information repository including data elements individually associated with corresponding record identifiers, includes the following steps. First, the repository information is parsed to identify relationships, including a common name portion between record identifiers to identify a relationship between corresponding data elements of said repository. Sorting identifiers, indicating related data elements, are created and collated. Information is then retrieved from the repository information in a desired order using the sorting identifiers.

Abstract: The invention is directed to a system for adaptively identifying data to be stored in a document-processing system that includes an identification processor programmed for identifying the existence of a new and previously absent stored data object in at least one of a plurality of file directories. The identified new stored data object being associated with a particular medical entity, a decision processor programmed for comparing at least a portion of a filename of an identified new stored data object with stored predetermined filename data, and identifying a new stored data object containing data indexing information in response to a filename data match. A communication processor is programmed for providing communication among the identification processor, the decision processor and the document-processing system for processing an identified new stored data object containing data indexing information differently from other identified new stored data objects.

A system according to invention principles comprises a user interface display providing a quick and convenient way to display key vital parameters and their acceptable ranges within the immediate eye-span of a clinician. A system provides a user interface presenting patient medical parameter data, and includes an acquisition processor for acquiring, from a patient monitoring device, data representing a patient parameter. The system includes a processor for initiating generation of data representing at least one display image including, (a) a current value of a patient parameter and (b) a sliding bar representation of the patient parameter current value together with a range indicator for graphically indicating whether the current value is outside of a user determined range.

Abstract: A system for dynamically configuring a user interface display, including image elements for prompting user data entry, includes an input data processor for receiving input data via a prompt element for display in the user interface. A database associates a condition with input data received via the prompt element An image element processor determines whether the received input data satisfies the condition and at least either activates or inactivates an image element in the user interface display in response to the determination.
