  • Patent number: 5516208
Abstract: A stirrer is disclosed herein for mixing ingredients in a pot wherein the stirrer includes a housing enclosing a battery-operated motor driving a downwardly depending drive shaft to which a stir paddle is detachably connected via an offset link so that the paddle revolves about the central axis of the housing but offset therefrom. A releasable mounting arrangement attaches the housing to the rim of the pot so that the drive shaft is centered thereon allowing the paddle to revolve without striking the wall of the pot. The mounting arrangement includes self-adjusting, spring-bias arms having end clamps detachably coupled with the pot rim. Push button and dial controls with circuit networks carried on the housing selectively control time, speed and other operating parameters.

  • Patent number: 5503594
Abstract: As a carcass moves down the conveyor in a meat processing plant, it may carry contaminants from an earlier processing step. The surface is sterilized, and the contaminants are removed by simultaneous delivery of steam to the surface and vacuuming away of the steam. A sterilizing hot water spray is controlled by a valve so that the operator may deliver it to particular spots that need more cleaning.

  • Patent number: 5477968
Abstract: The self-supporting rack system is comprised of at least two substantially upright and parallel side bars, each having its own foot to support the side bars at a small angle to the vertical. Two cross bars are attached to each side bar to form the rack. Sports equipment is supported on the side bars and cross bars for storage, protection and display. Attachment means such as hooks and/or platforms assist in supporting some types of sports equipment.

  • Patent number: 5462101
Abstract: The system includes a coupler which attaches to both a baby food jar and a squeezable baby bottle so that the baby food jar can be inverted on the squeezable bottle to gravitationally transfer the baby food without spilling. Thereafter, a nozzle attaches to the coupler or directly to the squeezable baby bottle. The nozzle terminates in a baby feeding spoon. A manual valve is fitted into the nozzle to close it when desired.

  • Patent number: 5438787
Abstract: The gun storage and rapid removal mount of this invention is for securely retaining a shotgun or the like against unauthorized removal with the mount providing for rapid removal by authorized persons. It comprises a trigger guard cup and a forward lock clamp. The lock clamp engages the barrel and a magazine tube just forward of the shotgun receiver to prevent forward motion of the shotgun in the mount. The trigger guard cup prevents rearward motion. The lock clamp is both lock- and spring-retained. When its lock is released, the gun can be rotated out of the clamp against spring force. The spring also permits reinsertion of the shotgun into position against the spring force.

  • Patent number: 5389075
Abstract: The single-use hypodermic syringe has a body in the form of a hypodermic syringe cylinder with a needle connection on the front. A piston in the cylinder draws in and discharges liquid. The plunger is connected to the piston by means of a collar which permits withdrawal of the piston. When the plunger returns the piston, a spring deflects to release the collar so that a second withdrawal stroke is prevented.

  • Patent number: 5383662
Abstract: The tennis racket has a handle and has a hoop-like frame with an opening therein. Strings are drawn through the opening and form a substantially planar string bed which is the hitting surface of the strings within the pattern of cross strings. Outside of the string bed, at least some of the cross strings diverge from the plane, including around the corners of the string bed, and pass through their holes in the frame to stabilize the string bed and reduce vibration.
