  • Patent number: 6061858
Abstract: A fishing device including a pair of opposed first and second arms pivotally connected at a pivot to move between an open position and a closed position. The first arm has a first jaw head at one end and the second arm has a second jaw head at one end. The first and second jaw heads have opposed inside gripping surfaces and further having opposed cutting blade portions that cut in said closed position. A latch is connected to the arms for holding the arms in the closed position and releasing the arms for pivotal movement away from one another to an open position. A first pair of opposed first and second transverse grooves along the inside of the first and second jaw heads forms a line tie hole usable in tying a knot in a fishing line. A second pair of opposed transverse grooves along the inside of said first and second jaw heads at the front end forms an eyelet threading hole through which a line will pass to thread an eyelet held in said grooves by the first and second jaw heads in the closed position.

  • Patent number: 6041812
Abstract: A regulator protector for one or more pressurized tanks such as oxygen and fuel gas cylinders disclosed includes a housing mounted to a support on a transport vehicle that carries one or more regulators. Flow lines are connected to the regulators and extend through the housing and are connected to one or more pressurized tanks supported on the transport vehicle a distance from the regulators to enable the regulators to not be mounted directly on the tanks in the normal manner and allow the pressure on the regulators to be reduced from the cylinder pressure to a working pressure during transport.

  • Patent number: 6000319
Abstract: An apparatus and method of cooking and smoking food is disclosed. The apparatus has an outer container, an inner container, and a cover for the inner container. The outer container is provided with a bottom wall which receives a smoke material such as wood chips, herbs and the like thereon and the inner container is provided with a bottom wall with smoke flow apertures therein wherein food is placed on the bottom wall of the inner container, the bottom wall of the inner container being spaced from the bottom wall of the outer container. The smoke material is ignited to provide smoke which flows up through the apertures in the bottom wall of the inner container and along with the heat being generated by the bottom wall of the outer container and the ignited material provides the smoke and cooking heat for the food. One embodiment has cylindrical telescoping containers and another pan shaped nesting container.

  • Patent number: 5999061
Abstract: An oscillator having two oscillation circuits with widely different frequencies with a common passive switched output circuit. Each oscillator circuit includes a transmission line inductive impedance between the oscillator output and ground. The inductive impedances are selected to be open at the operating frequency of the associated oscillator circuit and a short or a low impedance at the frequency of the other oscillator circuit. Each inductive impedance forms a portion of an impedance matching pad for the other oscillator circuit.

  • Patent number: 5995059
Abstract: A stable coaxial antenna for broad band and narrow band applications is described. The antenna disclosed is preferably made of a conventional coaxial cable having a center conductor, tubular outer conductor surrounding the center conductor and an insulator between the conductors. A gap is formed in at least the outer conductor to form two outer conductor sections. In a first embodiment the field is provided between the gap and a feed end. In a second embodiment the gap is between both center and outer conductors and the ends of the conductors in the gap are cross connected to form a radiating section and feed section. The coaxial antennas disclosed may be adjusted to synchronize the energy to react favorably to an uncontrolled environment.

  • Patent number: 5991993
Abstract: Portable apparatus for connecting panels with an interlocking seam is disclosed. The apparatus includes three rollers disposed in a triangular configuration. Two guide rollers support connecting flange portions of the panels and a forming or hem roller turns a terminal section of one connecting flange portion back to form the seam. A larger hem roller reduces forming stresses and improves quality. Apparatus also connects panels by seaming a cap over adjacent connecting flange portions. The apparatus may be manually driven or motor driven.

  • Patent number: 5982243
Abstract: An electronic oscillator of the Colpitts type with an amplifying element and a tank circuit. The tank circuit includes a parallel tuned resonant circuit, a series tuned resonant circuit and a switching circuit that selectively connects one of the resonant circuits to the tank circuit. The oscillator operates at a first frequency in the parallel tuned mode and a second frequency that is substantially twice the first frequency in the series tuned mode.

  • Patent number: 5964724
Abstract: The present invention is a blood separation system that is fully mechanized to collect blood from a patient, separate waste portions of the blood, wash the blood, and redirect the usable portions to a device for reinjecting the usable portions into the patient. The present invention prevents accidental activation of an improper operation that could cause harm to a patient or a shut down of the system by requiring confirmation of each step by an operator. The invention provides screen displays with detailed setup instructions, eliminating the need for secondary documentation that might not be allowed in a surgical environment. The invention also instructs the operator at the appropriate times to do certain manual steps such as opening and closing clamps. Since the opening and closing of clamps is a highly critical operation, confirmation of these steps is also required.

  • Patent number: 5926815
Abstract: The binary sort access method and apparatus makes use of a binary search to show where an item of data not found should be placed in sorted order within a list in a table in memory or in a file on a storage device. The method includes building the list structure when items of data are inserted in and maintained in sorted order in a table in memory or in a file on a storage device. When no blank table entry is available items of data are moved to make room for the next succeeding item of data. A partially filled or filled list of items may be rewritten again to provide one or more blank table entries between each item of data.

  • Patent number: 5903431
Abstract: Integrated circuits and the method of making same are disclosed which are suitable for use in integrated circuits such as amplifiers, filters and oscillators. Each integrated circuit includes using a main dielectric body that has a thin conductive layer on opposite faces, using conventional etching process to etch out selected spaces or gaps in the layers according to a preselected pattern and cutting through the body to form oblong shaped bodies that form the integrated circuit. These circuits have conductive plates and spaces between plates on both sides with opposite plates providing capacitors connected mechanically and electrically and square shaped sections connected between plates of selected conductive materials which function as resistors and inductors.
