Abstract: A valve assembly for use in a filter device is disclosed herein. The valve assembly includes a valve housing, a cylindrical bore in the housing defining at least one open end, a valve stem inserted in the bore and including a groove about the circumference thereof, and a face plate mounted onto the housing about the open end in locking engagement with the housing. The face plate is provided with a cylindrical opening for receiving the valve stem, and a plurality of compressible fingers with gripping tabs about the distal end thereof which engage with the circumferential groove when the stem is inserted into the opening to create a fixed, rotatable relationship with the valve housing. The face plate also includes a locking tab which engages a recess in the housing to lock the face plate to the housing.
Abstract: A bobbin or spool type hair curler having a cylindrical hair roller portion formed between a pair of opposing parallel flanges and provided with a pliable, integrally formed, cup-shaped closure member. The closure member is axially aligned to one of the end flanges of the spool shaped hair roller portion. The wall of the cup-shaped closure member extends away from the spool shaped portion and, after the hair is wound upon the spool shaped portion, the wall may be flipped substantially 180.degree. about its point of attachment to its corresponding flange in order to place the rim of the cup-shaped closure member proximate to the other flange to thereby retain the hair around the spool shaped portion. The invention additionally includes a method for curling hair with the aforementioned device and, in one embodiment the hair curler is provided with an axial throughbore and the invention further includes a method for heating same.
Abstract: An air treating device including a liquid reservoir having a mouth opening, a base supporting and surrounding a liquid absorbent material, a piercing pin extending upwardly from the base and absorbent material, a mechanism for attaching the reservoir to the base such that the pin is in direct alignment with the mouth opening, and a liquid metering control mechanism surrounding the pin and between the mouth opening and the absorbent material, whereby the device provides a rate of dispersion which is substantially even over an extended period of time.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for treating the blade of a razor head by applying a non-foamable liquid lubricant and solubilizer mixture via an aerosolization system directly to the razor blade immediately before shaving such that shaving can be performed in the absence of first applying any shaving preparation directly to the area to be shaved.

Abstract: As useful in a filter device for removably securing a filter housing to a valve assembly housing, there is disclosed a fluid tight coupling means for a fluid conduit, the coupling means being readily uncoupled, the coupling means comprising cooperating elements of a double dovetail connection means, the double dovetail connection means having a dovetail connection in two perpendicular planes.
Abstract: A radioactive assay method for measuring the humectant properties of cosmetic or non-cosmetic formulations or substances of any consistency, e.g. biological or synthetic liquids, solids, solutions, suspensions, isolated stratum coreum and hair, by measuring the uptake of radioactive water vapor.
Abstract: A composition for treating the blade of a razor by applying a non-foamable lubricant and solubilizer mixture via an aerosolization system directly to the razor blade immediately before shaving such that shaving can be performed in the absence of first applying any shaving preparation directly to the area to be shaved.
Abstract: A liquid hard surface cleaner having broad spectrum disinfectancy activity based on a synergistic effect between pine oil and organic, oil soluble acids at a pH of 0 to 6. The cleaner has disinfectancy activity against both gram positive and gram negative organisms.
