Abstract: The vehicle safety system produces a supplemental warning signal when a braking system of an associated vehicle is actuated. The system includes a warning signal coupled to a wire loop and a flux generator adapted to be coupled to the braking system of the vehicle. When the braking system of the vehicle is actuated the flux generator draws current from the vehicle and the flux generator creates flux when the braking system is actuated to power the warning signal.

Abstract: A golf club head for hitting a golf ball toward a target has a directional tendency to launch the golf ball in a selected direction. Basic embodiments include a club head having an asymmetric ball striking face such that one side of the face, as measured from the center of the face, has a first bulge radius and the other side of the face has a second bulge radius. The club head assumes a directional tendency in the direction toward the smaller bulge radius. Other embodiments of club heads with a directional tendency have a striking face with a bulge radius apex shifted either right or left of the center of the striking face such that a club face with the bulge radius apex to the left results in a right directional tendency and a club face with a bulge radius apex to the right results in a left directional tendency. Further embodiments of a club head may include a combination of a shifted bulge radius apex and a different radius on each side of the center of the striking face.

Abstract: A toilet seat provides a lifting operation to assist a user to safely engage and disengage a toilet. A toilet seat is pivotally arranged to swing between two positions, an incline position and a horizontal position. While the seat is in the incline position, a user may approach it from a slightly bent standing position. By pushing against the seat, the user's weight loads an energy storing strut and forces the seat to lower gently into its horizontal position. After which, the user may benefit from energy stored in the strut. The seat applies a pressure which lifts the user from the toilet and into a natural standing position. In some versions, the seat is powered by a compressed gas strut which is loaded by a user's weight when the user engages the device. The loaded strut energizes the pivoting seat to provide a force which operates to remove the user from the toilet. Additionally, the seat may be arranged with armrests so the user's arm strength may be used to aid the transition to and from the toilet.

Abstract: A Kimchi mix composition having a spice mix, vitamin C at an organic acid. The vitamin continue is either ascorbic acid, calcium ascorbic or sodium ascorbic. The organic acid is either malic acid, citric acid, fumaric acid, stannic acid, succinic acid or mixtures thereof. The vitamin C and the organic acid are present at an amount of 0.5-30% by weight and 0.5-5% by weight, respectively, based on the total weight of the spice mix. The spice mix can include salt, pepper powder, onion powder, garlic powder, mustard powder, paprika powder, kelp powder, ginger powder, seaweed powder, apple powder, fish powder, monosodium glutamate, sesame powder, or mixtures thereof.

Abstract: A machining vise which includes a main body having a recess for guiding movable vise jaws therein is disclosed. The vise also includes a stationary jaw removably mounted at a mid-point on the main body, a first movable slide and a second movable slide. The first and second slides are mounted in the recess for guiding the movable vise jaws, wherein the first jaw is removably mounted to the first movable slide and the second jaw is removably mounted to the second movable slide.

Abstract: A blood alcohol content monitoring device is disclosed. The device includes a microcontroller storing body characteristic information of an individual and alcoholic beverage information, a clock for measuring the passage of time and a user interface coupled to the microcontroller such that a user may input body characteristic information and alcoholic beverage information for use by the microcontroller. The microcontroller further includes calculation means for calculating the blood alcohol content of the individual based upon body characteristic information, alcoholic beverage information and the passage of time. The calculation means also estimates the blood alcohol content of an individual if the individual were to have an additional drink. The user interface includes a display coupled to the microcontroller for providing the individual with information regarding blood alcohol content based upon the body characteristic information, alcoholic beverage information and the passage of time.

Abstract: A waterproof laminate panel is disclosed. The panel includes a decorative layer and a backing layer. The backing layer is composed of at least one resin impregnated layer bound to a waterproofing layer which substantially prevents the penetration and release of moisture from the panel so as to maintain a constant moisture content within the decorative panel. The resin impregnated layer faces the decorative layer and the waterproofing layer is exposed to an external environment.

Abstract: A surgical smoke evacuator for a surgical laser or cautery plume is disclosed. The evacuator includes collection tubing through which surgical smoke is drawn. The collection tubing has a distal end nozzle where the surgical smoke enters the evacuator. The evacuator also includes a variable vacuum motor coupled to the collection tubing for generating suction pressure at a distal end nozzle of the evacuator to draw smoke from a surgical site. A first filter is provided for removing particulates from smoke flowing through the evacuator. The first filter is in fluid communication with the distal end nozzle of the evacuator and the variable motor. A first sensor is attached to the first filter for detecting tissue invagination and a pressure relief device is associated with the evacuator for reducing the suction pressure within the evacuator when the first sensor senses tissue invagination.
