Abstract: A magnetic recording member with improved coercive force is obtained by:(a) forming by sputtering or Cr film on a non-magnetic substrate;(b) forming by sputtering an epitaxially grown film of a Co alloy containing at least Cr as an additional metal on the Cr film formed in the step (a);and applying a negative bias voltage to the substrate during at least one of steps (a) and (b).The coercive force of the magnetic recording member is further increased when high-frequency sputtering is used instead of direct current sputtering.
Abstract: A floating type composite magnetic head includes a head core fixed to a slider formed of nonmagnetic material. In the head core, a pair of magnetic core halves are abutted against each other with nonmagnetic material such as SiO.sub.2 or the like interposed therebetween. The first and second magnetic core half members have first and second gap forming surfaces to be abutted against each other to define a magnetic gap (g), respectively. A first groove is formed on the second gap forming surface. A glass layer is formed in the first groove. A first thin film including a ferromagnetic metal thin film is selectively formed on the first gap forming surface. A second thin film including a ferromagnetic metal thin film is selectively formed on the second gap forming surface so that at least a portion except the surface of the glass layer in the second gap forming surface is exposed. A second groove is formed on the exposed second gap forming surface adjacent to the first groove.
Abstract: A handler used in a testing system for semiconductors includes an arm shaped conveyer unit for conveying a semiconductor device from a first end thereof to a second end thereof and vice versa,a loader/unloader unit which is provided at the first end of the conveyer unit, a setting unit which is provided at the second end of the conveyer unit, and an adjusting unit for adjusting the setting unit on a testing position which is a predetermined position with respect to a test head. The conveyer unit includes a ring shaped conveyer belt which is rotated between the first end of the conveyer unit and the second end thereof, and a plurality of holders each of which is fixed on an outer surface of the conveyer belt and holds the semiconductor device.
Abstract: The invention provides a shaped resin article for optical use which is a three-dimensional reaction product cast from a molding composition essentially comprising a tetrahalobisphenol A epichlorohydrin polycondensate-(meth)acrylic acid adduct (A) and a polyisocyanate compound (B). In another aspect of the invention, the resin article is cast from a composition containing a styrenic or ester monomer (C) in addition to (A) and (B). In still another aspect, the resin article is cast from a composition containing a phenolic compound (D) in addition to (A), (B) and (C).
Abstract: A loading and unloading airlock apparatus for a vacuum treatment chamber which includes an airlock chamber, a transport mechanism inside the chamber to transport a substrate holder arranged to have substrates detachably mounted thereon, an exhaust port to evacuate the chamber to a vacuum, a gas inlet port to introduce a gas to bring the evacuated chamber back to atmospheric pressure, a rectifying plate provided in the chamber adjacent to and at a predetermined distance away from the substrate holder on that side of the substrate holder upon which the substrates are detachably mounted, and a gas introduction pipe having a gas ejection outlet in said chamber for introducing additional gas in a space defined by the predetermined distance to flow along the surfaces of the substrates and the substrate holder.

Abstract: The invention deals with a string for use in rackets used for tennis and badminton and so on. These are wound around the periphery of a monofilament center core in a mixed condition, wrapping monofilaments of a large diameter and a small diameter and the wrapping monofilaments are covered with a coating resin such that a part in a periphery side of the large diameter wrapping monofilament is uncovered. Moreover, the elongation of the wrapping monofilaments of large diameter and small diameter is greater by 5-40% than the elongation of monofilament center core. This string is superior in ball control and has a higher knot strength.
Abstract: An apparatus for executing a subroutine and an interrupt processing routine of a bank switching scheme has a plurality of memory banks (4, 5, 6), a program for controlling bank switching being stored in the same address space (90) in each of the plurality of memory banks. When there is a necessity of switching the banks to the second memory bank (5) or (6) during the execution of a processing program in the first memory bank (4) to execute a subprogram, the bank switching control program in the first memory bank is called so that switching is performed from the first memory bank to the second memory bank, and the bank switching control program in the second memory bank is called. The subprogram is called in accordance with this bank switching control program in the second memory bank.
Abstract: This invention provides a halogen-containing thermoplastic resin composition comprising a halogen-containing thermoplastic resin (A) consisting of 100 to 0.1 weight percent of a thermoplastic polyurethane-vinyl chloride graft polymer (a1) with a polyurethane content of 10 to 90 weight percent which is produced by polymerizing vinyl chloride in the presence of a thermoplastic polyurethane and 0 to 99.9 weight percent of another halogen-containing polymer (a2) and a melt-moldable vinyl alcohol polymer (B), the proportion of melt-moldable vinyl alcohol polymer (B) being in the range of 0.1 to 100 parts by weight to 100 parts by weight of halogen-containing thermoplastic resin (A).
Abstract: An electricity supply device, connected to an electric contact of a heater on a tray, is disposed on the side wall at the upper part of a support member which supports and guides a tray and which is formed on the side wall of a receiving chamber. The electricity supply device has a) a conductive plate spring placed in pressure contact with an electric contact of a heater and b) a conductive pin connected to a power source and is embedded into a plastic mold. The plastic mold is disposed into a casing which is mounted to the side wall of the receiving chamber to secure an insulating property. The plate spring makes positive contact with a contact of the heater.
Abstract: A bolt feed device for feeding a welding bolt to a welding section of a welder is installed separately from an electrode. The device includes a feed device body holding an end portion of a welding bolt feed pipe; a feed rod installed for movement forward or rearward relative to the feed device body; a bolt grasping section having a bolt receptacle and installed to the feed rod so that when the feed rod is at a retreat position the bolt receptacle is positioned at a lower end portion of the feed pipe, and when it is at an advance position the bolt receptacle is positioned at the welding section; and an inserting device having a welding bolt inserting cylinder and installed to the feed rod so that when the feed rod is at the retreat position the welding bolt inserting cylinder is positioned at a lateral side of the feed pipe, and when it is at the advance position the welding bolt inserting cylinder is rotated and positioned onto the bolt receptacle of the bolt grasping section.
Abstract: A storage section for storing a video monitoring equipment for an airliner and the video monitoring equipment which moves to a visible position are connected by two long cylindrical springs. One of the springs is urged in the direction of the storage section of the airframe. The other spring is made of a shape-memory alloy on which a specific shape is memorized in heated condition. When the second spring is heated and takes the specific shape, the video monitoring equipment is moved to the visible position together with the move of the second spring going against the urging force of the first spring. When the heating of the second spring is stopped, the video monitoring equipment is moved to the storage section along with the movement of the first spring by the urging force of the first spring.
Abstract: The present invention provides a collar and clothes for animals having at least one side face which contacts the animal's fur or skin, which comprises an acrylic fiber and/or a nylon fiber having copper sulfide absorbed therein. This invented collar or clothes has a deodorant effect on the animal's body smell, bad breath and otorrhoea smell when animals put it on, and the deodorant effect is continuous as long the animals have one on. Further the inventor found that the collar or the clothes is safe for animals.
Abstract: A molding material suitable as an optical material and an optical recording medium formed of the molding material are disclosed. The molding material comprises a hydrogenated product of a polymer formed by ring-opening polymerization of a norbornene-type monomer, the hydrogenated product having a number average molecular weight (Mn) of 20,000 to 50,000, a weight average molecular weight (Mw) of 40,000 to 80,000 and a molecular distribution (Mw/Mn) of not more than 2.5 and having a volatile content of not more than 0.3% by weight.

Abstract: A toilet covering hinge assembly for mounting a toilet covering to the rear of a toilet for rotation of the toilet covering about a hinge axis between a lowered and a raised position. The hinge assembly includes a hinge element which is provided at the rear end of the toilet covering and is formed with a bore extending along the hinge axis. A hinge shaft extends through the bore in a rotatively fixed relation thereto so as to be rotatable together with the toilet covering about the hinge axis. One end of the hinge shaft is received by a support member provided on the side of the toilet for allowing the hinge shaft to rotate together with the toilet covering relative to the toilet. A retainer spring is secured to the hinge element adjacent to the bore for latching the hinge shaft against an axial movement thereof.
Abstract: A surface treatment process for improving surface properties of a timber as to wetness by exposing the timber to a plasma mixture of an inert gas and a reactive gas at a near atmospheric pressure. Prior to being exposed to the plasma mixture, the timber is treated to reduce a moisture content below a fiber saturation point of the timber so as to eliminate free moisture from the fibers of the timber which would otherwise lead to unstable plasma and therefore detract an uniform improvement over substantially the entire surface expected at the subsequent exposure to the plasma mixture. Thus, the plasma treatment can be effected in the absence of the free moisture to obtain a desired surface improvement uniformly across the surface of the timber, which gives an enhanced practicability of improving the surface properties of the timber, in addition to that the plasma mixture is generated at near the atmospheric pressures readily available without requiring substantial vacuum generating equipments.
