Abstract: A rear cover for use in waterproof connectors and a process for forming a resilient sealing member molded in one piece in the rear cover are provided. The rear cover, in which an electric wire is inserted through a base wall, has a hollow holder pattern on an outer surface of the base wall and a molded-in resilient sealing member containing: a holder formed in the holder pattern; a sealing body extended from the holder, which protrudes toward an inner side of the base wall and has a through hole for the electric wire to pass therethrough; and a plurality of sealing lips formed around the through hole, wherein a portion of periphery of the holder pattern is notched to form a hollow of injection inlet for molding the resilient sealing member in one piece in the rear cover. Thus, the rear cover according to the present invention improves a property of mold releasing and maintenance of a mold.
Abstract: A laminated plate comprising a glass layer located in front and formed from a glass sheet and a resin layer located at the back of the glass layer and molded from a molten thermoplastic material spread at a low pressure over the glass layer, the glass layer and the resin layer being arranged in a laminated fashion. A method for producing the laminated plate wherein the glass sheet is first provided so as to be in close contact with the inner side of at least either one of dies used in a compression molding machine and then the dies are clamped for compression molding, with the molten resinous material to be supplied to a mold cavity being spread at a low pressure over the glass sheet, whereby the laminated plate comprising, in a laminated fashion, the glass layer composed of the glass sheet and the resin layer molded by spreading the molten resinous material at a low pressure can be formed.
Abstract: A chip inductor is made up of a coiled conducting wire and a magnetic member which is formed by sintering and in which the coiled conducting wire is embedded. Both end portions of the coiled conducting wire are exposed to both end surfaces of the magnetic member. External electrodes are formed with conducting thin films and are connected to respective end portions of the coiled conducting wire. An inorganic material is interposed in a clearance between winds of both end portions of the conducting wire and external surfaces of the magnetic member and a clearance between adjoining winds of the conducting wire.
Abstract: An engine control system and method is disclosed, which reduces driver's feeling of unease relating to the operation of driving a vehicle which is idle-controlled so as to reduce the exhaust gas discharge, thereby improving the driving operability. The method comprising the steps of detecting a switch of the driving mode of the vehicle from a first normal driving range to a second normal driving range different from the first normal driving range; detecting whether the engine is currently in a stopped state due to an automatic stop operation; detecting whether a brake for stopping the vehicle is currently being operated; and automatically starting the engine if it is determined that the engine is currently in a stopped state due to the automatic stop operation, and that the driving mode has been switched to the second normal driving range, and that the brake is not currently being operated.

Abstract: A mark for position detection formed on a substrate has a first pattern disposed near the center of the mark and having periodicity in a Y-axis direction, and second patterns respectively disposed near both sides of the first pattern in an X-axis direction and each having periodicity in the X-axis direction. The position of the first pattern is detected by aligning the detection center of a detecting optical system, that is, the minimal aberration point of the detecting optical system, with the center of the first pattern. The positions of the second patterns are detected at respective points symmetric with respect to the minimal aberration point, and the detected values for the positions of the second patterns are averaged. An apparatus for detecting the mark for position detection detects the first and second patterns by image processing when the mark is in a stationary state.
Abstract: The present method represents a three-dimensional shape model by polygons according to a plurality of object images information picked up by rotating a real object for every arbitrary angle to assign texture information on each polygon from object image information having the largest projection area of the relevant polygon. In order to improve the color continuity between adjacent polygons, the object image information having correspondence between a polygon of interest and an adjacent polygon thereof is selected so as to be the object image information approximating the shooting position and the shooting direction. An alternative method divides an object image into a plurality of regions, obtains difference between an object image and a background image in region level, outputs a mean value of the absolute value of difference in the region level, and detects the region having the mean value of absolute values of difference equal to or greater than a threshold value as the object portion.
Abstract: A self-propelling crushing machine comprises a machine body (2) provided with a travelling body (1); a hopper (4), a feeder (5), a selective feeder (6) and a crusher (3) which mounted to the machine body; a conveyer (7) disposed below the machine body; and a controlling device for independently controlling the feeder, the selective feeder, the crusher and the conveyer, wherein the feeder conveys a material to be crushed in the hopper to the selective feeder, the selective feeder selects the material to be crushed conveyed by the feeder so as to fall down soil, shingle and the like and convey large rock to the crusher, and the conveyer discharges the selected soil, shingle and the like and material pieces crushed by the crusher.
Abstract: A rare-earth alloy powder pressing apparatus comprises a die. The die includes a die main body. The die main body includes a through hole for formation of a cavity, and an auxiliary yoke. A rare-earth alloy powder is fed into the cavity. A correcting yoke is disposed near the die, on a side from which a compact is taken out, and an orienting magnetic field is applied. At this time, the correcting yoke is disposed on an upper side of the die if the compact is to be taken out from the upper side of the die whereas the correcting yoke is disposed on a lower side of the die if the compact is to be taken out from the lower side of the die, an inward side surface of the correcting yoke and an inward side surface of the auxiliary yoke are made flush with a plane vertical to a direction in which the orienting magnetic field is applied, and the correcting yoke is urged toward the die. Then, the rare-earth alloy powder is pressed by an upper punch and a lower punch to form a compact.

Abstract: This invention discloses a method and apparatus where a pre-treatment which reduce interfacial level density is carried out before thin film deposition on a substrate utilizing a catalytic gas phase reaction. The catalytic gas phase reaction is generated with a treatment gas which is supplied with the substrate via a thermal catalysis body provided near the substrate surface. Thin film deposition on the substrate surface is carried out after this pre-treatment. The thermal catalysis body is made of tungsten, molybdenum, tantalum, titanium or vanadium, and is heated by a heater. And, this invention also discloses a semiconductor device having a semiconductor-insulator junction with its interfacial level density is 1012 eV−1 cm−2 or less, which is brought by the above pre-treatment in the insulator film deposition process.
Abstract: A containment tray for a hazardous material spill pallet for storage of hazardous material containing drums. The tray provides a raised support surface for the drums and a chamber for containing spilled or leaking material from the stored drums. Access for pallet lifting member is provided from all four directions of the pallet. The containment trays are nestable for stacking and peripheral edges are reinforced for more solid support when in use and when stacked. Multiple channels along the peripheral edge are provided for attachment of auxiliary devices such as a ramp for ease of placing and removing drums.
Abstract: A ferromagnetic tunnel junction random access memory includes a ferromagnetic tunnel junction structure including a first ferromagnetic layer, a second ferromagnetic layer disposed adjacent to the first ferromagnetic layer and having a fixed magnetization, and a tunnel insulator layer interposed between the first and second ferromagnetic layers; a conductor plug penetrating the first ferromagnetic layer, the tunnel insulator layer and the second ferromagnetic layer along a center axis; a first selection line coupled to a first end of the conductor plug; and a second selection line coupled to a second end of the conductor plug opposite to the first end. The first ferromagnetic layer has a generally ring shape surrounding the conductor plug and is insulated from the conductor plug. One of the first and second ferromagnetic layers has an antiferromagnetic layer pattern on a portion thereof.
Abstract: An electronic image recording apparatus is a digital still camera, for example. If a camera mode is set by using a mode selecting button, an image signal from an imager is compressed and recorded into a flash memory. Then, if a sound button is depressed, during a constant time period, a sound signal to the image data is compressed and written into the memory. At this time, an address of an area in which the sound data is recorded is written in an image data area. If a continuous reproducing mode is set by the mode selecting button, a CPU reads first image data from the memory, and expands the image data and writes into a VRAM. Therefore, the first image data is displayed on an attached liquid crystal monitor. The CPU determines whether or not the recording address of the sound data is written in the image data area. When the address is recorded, a first sound data is read from the memory according to the address, and the first sound data is expanded and outputted on a speaker and etc.
Abstract: A semiconductor device includes a multi-flexible substrate and semiconductor chips mounted thereon. The multi-flexible substrate is configured such that organic insulation substrate layers and filmy adhesive layers are alternatively stacked together and wiring layers formed therein are interconnected by means of vias. Each of the vias consisting of a via-hole which is formed penetrating both the organic insulation substrate layers and the filmy adhesive layers and a metal via member 26 which is provided in the via-hole and made of an identical material. A method of manufacturing the multi-flexible substrate for the semiconductor device is also disclosed.

Abstract: Disclosed is an apple tree having a strong vigor, rounded and serrate leaves, exhibiting excellent resistance to Alternaria blotch, bearing a medium size fruit maturing mid-season and having high productivity with little early fruit drop and preharvest fruit drop. The fruit has a rounded shape with good appearance, having solid, deep red colored skin and having relatively good storage quality, which is slightly inferior to the seed parent. The flesh of the fruit is yellowish white, juicy and firm, and further, has a moderate sweetness, weak sourness and an aroma, thereby providing a good sweet-sour balance, and an excellent eating quality.
