    Abstract: A valve includes a plunger which is movable by actuating means such as a solenoid coil, air pressure or other means to move a valve member toward and away from a valve seat. The fluid flow area of the valve is sealed from the actuating means by the diaphragm, O-rings or other forms of sealing structure. In order to insure against leakage past the diaphragm or seal and especially against leakage into the actuating means, the construction includes another diaphragm or seal spaced from the first seal providing a seal space between the first and second diaphragms or seals. In the event of leakage past the first sealing means, flow of the liquid into the space between the first and second sealing means causes an outward flow of the fluid through a detecting passage which thereby provides means which disclose the leakage past the first sealing means so that the first sealing means can be immediately replaced before any damage to the actuating means or to the system itself.

    Abstract: Chemical fixation of industrial desulfurization residues by forming an intimate admixture of the desulfurization residue, such as a flue gas desulfurization sludge, with an alkaline calcination stack dust, such as a cement kiln dust, in the presence of sufficient water to provide a mass of workable consistency, adjusting the pH of the alkaline mass with acid, such as sulfuric or phosphoric acid, to a value of below about 7, e.g. in the acid range of from below about pH 7 down to about pH 5, and drying the pH adjusted mass to constant weight, preferably after forming the pH adjusted mass into a selectively shaped article, whereby to produce an environmentally stable and leach-resistant hardened solid, cement-like fixed product.

An electronic delay device is provided for temporarily delaying the action of the shutter of the camera after it has been released. The switching device is so controlled in dependence upon the action of the delay device tht the signal lamp emits a distinctive light signal during the action of the delaying device and the subsequent exposure. A flashing circuit is arranged to provide a flashing signal during the delay period, the circuit being arranged to operate the lamp continuously during the exposure period.

    Abstract: A support rod is maintained in position by two load-bearing leaf springs disposed at each end of the rod. The leaf spring members are partially U-shaped in cross-section and the rod is maintained with a loop formed by the U and a back plate. This loop is under a predetermined tautness, the strength of which is created by presetting the tension of a coil spring on the upper flat portion of the load-bearing leaf spring member from which the U-shaped section extends. When an overload is placed upon the support rod, the weight causes the rod to move the U-shaped section of the leaf spring outwardly which thereupon releases the rod from its engagement within the U-shaped loop. As a consequence, the rod will fall with the weight thereon under the force of gravity.

    Abstract: A tray container for liquid chemical compositions such as those used in developing photographs or pictures, is pivotally carried on a support for tilting or rocking movement. A spring biased support means is disposed under one end of the tray and a motor driven movable cam is located under the other end. The tray is tilted at one end when engaged by the cam surface and the other end thereupon compresses the spring. When the cam surface becomes disengaged from the tray, the spring is relieved and returns the other end of the tray to its initial position with a jar or snap action, thereby agitating the liquid chemical in the tray.
