  • Patent number: 6209825
Abstract: The system includes a hydraulic surface actuator for operating a piston coupled to a structural member of an aircraft for moving the structural member. An electrical feedback sensor is coupled to the actuator piston rod. A summing circuit for receiving a command signal and the feedback signal is provided having an output which is coupled to a loop gain compensator for operating a servo motor. The shaft of the servo motor drives the shaft of a variable displacement pump having ports leading to the ports of the actuator. The variable displacement pump has a swash plate the angle of which is reduced by a hinge moment sensor and a de-stroking actuator when the load on the surface actuator exceeds a given percentage of maximum. A pump gain sensor measures the reduction in pump gain and produces an electrical output which is applied to the loop gain compensator to compensate for reduction in pump gain.

  • Patent number: 6199313
Abstract: The weight has a sound chamber and a tail section. The sound chamber embodies a plunger stem, a plunger seat, a flexible reed or spring biased balls and a compression spring. The tail section embodies a tail canal and an amplifier which forms a venture having a vortex and a vertex intersecting the tail canal. The sound is made when the plunger stem is pulled, the flexible reed or spring biased balls mounted in the plunger seat deflects the sound chamber grooves of the sound chamber. The plunger stem reaches it's maximum travel when the plunger seat reaches the spring seat. The compression spring retracts the plunger stem when the pull is released. The spring's retraction allows the flexible reed or spring biased balls on the plunger set to deflect the sound grooves in the opposite direction until the plunger seats meets the tail seat. The sound induced in the sound chamber is transferred to the tail canal where it is amplified through the vortex and vertex making an amplifier.

  • Patent number: 6190134
Abstract: The apparatus includes a motor with a shaft for rotating a fan. A retaining ring and a thrust washer are located around the shaft on one side of the hub of the fan and a torque washer is located on the outer side of the hub with the end of the shaft extending through a central aperture of the torque washer. The retaining ring supports the thrust washer and the thrust washer engages and supports the hub of the fan. The aperture of the torque washer and the side of the shaft at the end thereof have planar surfaces which engage each other which prevents rotation between the torque washer and the shaft. Bosses are formed on the outer side of the hub which fit into apertures formed through the torque washer outward of the central aperture to transfer torque radially outward to the hub. A screw has a threaded shaft extending through the central aperture of the torque washer and which is screwed into a threaded aperture formed in the end of the motor shaft to tighten the torque washer to the hub.

  • Patent number: 6073660
Abstract: The reed employs two spaced apart cylinders with slots in their outer surfaces. The slots extend around the axis of each cylinder a given distance. The slots of each cylinder flare out from each other from one edge to an opposite edge. Dents are supported for movement between the two cylinders and have guides located in the slots of each cylinder. The two cylinders can be rotated together in one direction or in an opposite direction for causing the slots to move the guides and hence the dents apart or together to obtain changes in the width of the fabric along the warp direction. This change in width will cause the warp density to vary along the length of the fabric while maintaining continuous warp yarn. This feature also allows warp strands of different cross-section to be woven.
